Congrats. They are a terrific bike. Enjoy.

    Looking to wrap my FJR

I put paint protection film on the tank, and elsewhere, absolutely no effect on tank bag magnets and it is just as shiny 6 year later. But why bother wrapping if your paint is in good shape, this matt rage will pass and then you will have a job removing the stuff.

Considering a 2016 FJR, but concerned about tranny recall.

Had my recall done on my '17 25,000 kms ago and you would never know it was ever taken apart. Everything is just as before, so I would not be afraid of the recall.

    2006 FJR1300A

Try different dog bones to lower the height. I put on the adjustable type and brought the height down, not so much as to affect the geometry but just enough for me. The Corbin seat I installed helped a bit as well. Not like a cruiser but at least I feel a bit more comfortable at a stop light.

    STOLEN overnight in Minneapolis 10/9/22

Let's hope the thieves fared worse than the bike!

    2015 1300A

Had mine ('17) done, absolutely no problems, in fact you would never know anything was done, and that is as it should be.

    Gen 3 or 4?

I had the 2nd gear repair on my 2017 ES, absolutely no problems what so ever. Probably over 10,000 kms on the clock since done, no leaks, no noises, nothing.

    Ivan’s Flash Tuning

Searching on the net in the past revealed that the Canadian models have a built in speedo error from Yamaha. M y 2017 was off about 9%. I installed a speed correction device and now read +/- 1 kmph at all speeds. It did take a leap of faith to cut into the factory wiring and there is not a...

Eclipse tank bag slides too much

I put 3M PPF on my tank and have an Oxford tank bag with magnets. Never moves, ever. Worked on 2 FJRs and a VFR as well.

    Brake Bleed sequence on 2014

Google Two Wheel Obsession for great videos on almost anything you want to do to your FJR. Really great site.

    2022 knocked over

Last year I painted a couple of panels on my K1200S myself, previous owner had an oops. Not terribly difficult but you need the space and tools to do a good job. Honestly if I didn't point it out you would not be able to tell the difference between the factory and the repaint. Plastic is not...

    2022 knocked over

Ouch. I did that to the mirror (2X, easy to replace and about $125 ) Check out just getting new parts, on a previous bike it was in fact cheaper to replace than repair, not to mention faster and more convenient. Check out M/C Canyon Cages, I have front and rear, saved my bacon a couple of...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I did the throttle bodies on both my 2006 and 2017 and did not fully remove the tank. Biggest fear was dropping a rubber nipple. Easy DIY but not sure if it really made much difference as there was not a lot of deviation.

    2022 CFR Nakusp

Bummer. Looked forward to meeting up. Heal quickly, I found a good malt helps the medicine go down!

    2022 Break-in oil change/filter

I amazes me that someone can drop 20 grand on a bike and worry about spending an extra dollar on a filter, or oil for that matter. On both my FJR's I have stuck with Mama Yama filters but chose Motul 5100 oil, cost an extra $20 per year or so but my pension will stretch that far.

Thanks, I also have the Techspec and highly recommend it. Certainly stick better than the Yamaha luggage badges!

    Slip-on Exhaust for 2006 FJR

I put on some Delkavic's and while they look nice, shorter and the sliced tip, the noise at 130/140 kmph on a longish trip was more than I could put up with. I even bought the so called quieter baffle but still too much. OK around town or short jaunts but long trips for days just too loud.
