Not repainting the entire cases, just some trim attached to 'em. The trim had aged and looked shirty. Painted those trims today, but not sure I like 'em - even with the new 'refreshed' black look.. Will give it about a week and see how I feel. Another day off out here 'cos of more flooding...

Well they are now gloss black - and to be honest I don't really like 'em that way. A local panel shop reckons they are only stuck on with double-sided tape. Must be really good tape 'cos they don't want to move! Anyway, I reckon I'll get a heat gun onto 'em and try to persuade them to come off...

She has over 100,000 on her. The pic doesn't show it but the 'glass' areas (screen and lamp covers) need some fairly heavy abrasion to level out stone craters. Pretty confident all will work out OK, but won't get rid of some crazing in the screen. If not, I'll fork-out for a new screen. Right...

na. I reckon you're right. Might just mask around 'em and paint 'em black :-)

It seems to be some sort of corrosion inside the artificial chrome plastic trims.

The trims on the FJR hard cases I bought yesterday are badly discolored. Toying with easy cosmetic fixes. Thinking of masking around them and just painting them black. Is this a common problem? If so, what's a popular fix? Cheers
