    Parts Wanted Rear seat pan

Looking for a basic rear/passenger seat pan for an '08 FJR. Condition is if no concern as long as it mounts and latches securely. Thx!

I'm probably just blind, but was Homer ever identified?

FJRForum Official 2019 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

I just want to highlight the scale of what these folks are doing. Calling Key West "pretty close" to Greenville - just, damn. That would be a spring break road trip for most "normal" humans.

Wouldn't it be fun to be able to have a post-rally press conference with all of the riders and have all of these questions answered?

I envision a game of rock-paper-scissors to decide who gets to use the donated bike. Except the "winner" will likely get to insist that the "loser" takes it. Fabulous camaraderie.. Heartbreaking to read about equipment issues at this stage but they won't be the last.

    Ivan's ECU Flash

Ivan's philosophy is generally for a plug-and-play solution, but in cases where customers are commonly changing out parts, he'll leave the fueling to whatever PC you choose to install, and will provide maps for various combinations as needed..

    Spare Key

BS. Yet another piece of nonsense that went viral because people don't understand the tech.

    Spare Key

I only do anything on extended/overnight trips, but the previous owner had some kind of key consolidation thing, which you can put several keys onto and flip out the one you need - like a swiss army knife. I don't use it, but the stubby keys are compact, so I carry one in my wallet when I'm...

    Dedicated GPS vs Cell Phone

I'm not trying to position it as a replacement for our expensive dedicated devices and associated "feature rich" software, I would absolutely choose my Garmin, but you can make it work quite well with pre-journey planning and segment customization, which can be pulled up on-demand while in areas...

    Dedicated GPS vs Cell Phone

Google Maps allows download of map sections for offline access, I pre-load my riding area regularly. Helps when driving in the city where coverage can be unreliable. It also gives spoken and/or visual guidance when following a planned route, despite what UH said. Haven't used that in a long...

    2UP Hyrdation

I have a "tactical" (ha!) camelback, designed to be strapped onto/into an existing backpack. It's compact and fairly well insulated, and I just place it in my tank bag - which is usually just the small snap-on mount Givi hard bag. You don't really need to carry enough water for an entire...

    '17 ES install Stebel Nautilus

It's not a waste, you're offering an opinion based on your experience. Others reading this may choose to go that route..

Are the FJR 1300 bag liners waterproof?

Like he said, he lives in the PNWet.. OP - the bags are water resistant, but the panniers are waterproof.

All the online stores (that I checked) have them for $500..

    Valve clearance measurements

(and, again, recommended service intervals assume that the average owner isn't laying awake at night wondering whether the valve stems have worn beyond tolerances in the two years/1000 miles since the last check!)

    Valve clearance measurements

Pretty sure the manufacturer would have taken that into account when specifying the service interval..

    Earplugs: just me?

Pretty much covered by everyone else, the hard part is finding a set that work for you. I've had many that have been "fine" but the blue Hearos are the best by far for me when riding.
