Can you use a lithium charger on a lead acid battery

Answer: no! Charge (voltage) profiles for Lithium are very different than for traditional lead-acid.

Tire damage: am I being wussy

For peace of mind, I would put some rubber cement down in there as Ross stated. It's not going to fix a leak, but it will protect the area from ingress of potentially damaging particles.

    Smokers (BBQ - not grilling)

Fred, I like hickory and use it pretty much exclusively for pork and beef, but find it doesn't pair well with poultry or fish - kind of overwhelms it. You liked it, so I'm wondering - how much did you use?

Preferred LED color for Instruments (Voltmeter)

Red is the best - less distracting, less impact on vision in the dark - but, as stated, might be hard to see in daylight. A small piece of plastic or similar as a sun shield could solve that problem..

Avoid a tire changer (Am I out of my mind ?)

I'm sure everyone posting here knows this, but stiff tires can be a LOT easier to mount when they are warmed before installing. So throw them in the microwave for a few..... ha. I try to plan a tire change on a sunny day, with my truck parked facing the sun, and the tires on the front seats. By...

Avoid a tire changer (Am I out of my mind ?)

Cycle hill from Nomar here, and no regrets. Having multiple bikes, paid for itself quickly in savings on costs of tires online, and I can do them whenever I like. I know others who spoon, some others use the HF setup, and it's all technique and what you're willing to put up with.

Definitely think there's some credence to the opinion that inverted forks are less likely to have seal leaks..

My '07 FZ1 had Ivan's flash and in conjunction with all of the other mods, it was fantastic.

Am sometimes amazed, sometimes underwhelmed by the tech

On a slightly related note, I grew up where the only option for a 16-17yr old was a 50cc, but drooling over the first Ninja and the glorious Katana and original FJ1300, don't get me started about the RG500 or FZR, and then - the ZX11.. Largest bike I ever rode was my dad's DR250, on Sunday's...

    Throttle bounce

If you're open to *really* learning, pick up the book "sport riding techniques" by Nick Ienatsch and Kenny Roberts. There are a few concepts in there that *dramatically* improved my skill and confidence in a short amount of time.

    Throttle bounce

My thoughts exactly - you don't need much pressure on the throttle to hold it steady, but here's an idea: hold it while your hand is over the bar-end, so you can steady it against that and prevent movement with the bumps. Or, grab the switch housing or brake pivot firmly while holding the...

    ECU Re-flash

"cracking" simply means "decoding" - the ECU is a program and has an assortment of data that is used to control various systems. Understanding the code and numbers takes significant time and effort, then you can start changing things to see what it affects beyond what you intended. Then you have...

    What would You Want ?

No on more electronic gadgets but pre-run factory power and mount points for a bar or tray would be nice. No on seat, no one seat suits everyone and I consider stock seats to be "placeholders" for the one you'll want. Add: right-angle valve stems TPMS Battery located under seat, or at least...
