These are simply the next iteration of sport tires, not designed for bikes like the FJR. I've used both the Dunlop Qualifier and the Michelin Power series on my FZ1s in the past, I prefer the Michelin but both were only good for around 3,000 miles. They're built for grip, not longevity.

Solution for a problem that doesn't exist.. Lot of high mileage FJR's out there still clunking away happily!

Not the same - Gen I (01-05) are 5LV-26280-00-00 & -26290-00-00 Gen II (06+) are 3C3-26280-10-00 & 3C3-26290-10-00 Now, that said, they share similar mounts with identical bolt spacing, so would technically fit, but one may work better than the other.

It's trivial to waterproof using silicone around the case joints, and hot-glue for the USB connector seals it up from that side.. It might fail if you rode into a lake, but I think that would be the last of your worries..

Picked up a second FJR, nearly bone-stock and like-new '07... Straight swap for my '07 FZ1, which has all the performance and handling mods, along with some nice Rizoma bling.. Plan is to move all the goodies on my '08 over to this, as I am now certain an FJR will be with me for a long time..

I don't have cruise to check this, but if a stuck brake switch was detected when turned on, wouldn't that disable the cruise for safety? Easily tested by holding a pedal or lever while turning on ignition..
