The average age of FJR owners just went down a bit

Well, that wasn't a high estimate for my FJR, but the furthest I'd ever been on my old bikes was 200 in one day. Current FJR record in one day is 730 miles... No saddlesore 1000 but its not bad for a newbie distance rider. And not possible without my RDL seat..! ;)

The average age of FJR owners just went down a bit

Agreed... all your points are what sold me on my Feejer! As a relative young'in (33) I picked up my low mileage '06 last spring from a 65yr old rider who surprisingly upgraded to a brand new Ducati Multistrada! Almost took the plunge on a Honda VFR800 as I thought that's what I wanted... One...

    Two Brothers = too LOUD!

I personally love my Two Bros pipes, did a 3,300 mile trip with them in September and its without a doubt that on two occasions when numbnuts cage drivers started oozing into my lane, downshifting into 3rd in the interstate was way more effective than bleating my pathetic horn. That said, I...

Eastbound and down... runnin' from the rain down the coast:

Thanks for all the comments, means a lot to know y'all read it and enjoyed "riding along" with me! Twinrivers: You'll have a great trip on your new FJR, that part of the country is perfect for a sport touring bike! Glad I could share something that might help your next trip, W Hwy 19 sounds...

    Russell seat Guys

I went with vinyl and couldn't be happier with it... no swamp-butt for me even on 700 mile days, hit plenty of rain and it handled it very well. Went with the half-moon design and I think it matches the look of the Feejer best out of all the available patterns... plus I ditto what Full House...

Eastbound and down... runnin' from the rain down the coast:

Agree, so far I definitely enjoy travelling with a pillion passenger or by myself the most vs group or club rides, but if there's a passenger you both need to have helmet communication or it's a doomed trip! It helps if she's both great at conversation or being quiet and it's fun to share the...

Opinion on Garmin Nuvi 50 GPS?

Agree completely, I headed out on my 3,000 miles trip (just posted the R/R last night) planning on using my Garmin Nuvi 1450 as my main navigator. Major issue with the screen brightness being very hard and unsafe to read at interstate speeds in daylight. Also was definitely not water resistant...

Eastbound and down... runnin' from the rain down the coast:

Thanks Skooter, and I learned that exact lesson myself! Barring the theft of my bike itself, I realized I should have only had a money clip with about $40 and one credit/debit card on my person. My I.D. and the rest of my finances should have been locked in a hard case the whole...

Eastbound and down... runnin' from the rain down the coast:

Hey gang, sorry I've waited so longs to post this, but work and craziness back home has kept me pretty busy since I got back from this trip! Early this spring this trip was planned as a 2-week trip from Michigan to Seattle on 2 bikes with my roomie and a best friend... wow, how things change...

    Alpine White FJR1300

D & D pipes are hella loud IMO... MPmy SV650 came with a D&D system that sounded like a track bike on race day. Left my head ringing after I shut er down... :angry2: Love my Two Brothers on the FJR, throaty sound and nasty howl above 6K that sound beeeeautiful in any tunnel! :yahoo: I...

1/2-day NH - VT - RI route recommendations based in Hartford?

Thanks Fred, and Willie! :) Like the revised route, probably take you up on that for sure! Think I'll ask my lady if it's too far, but think we might catch a late breakfast at Amy's Bakery Arts Cafe in Brattleboro. Not a lot of good small town diners in that town that I could find, but...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Finally got all my maintenance and farkles installed prior to my 8 day trip next week. New PR2 on rear, final drive and oil changed, and all the dry parts lubed (brake and shift pivots, kickstand, susp. and etc) Installed both G2 tube and cheepo throttle lock spec'd for a Honda as per (i think...

1/2-day NH - VT - RI route recommendations based in Hartford?

First of all, I REALLY wish I was going to be out there in a few weeks for FredW's NH bridge tour... :( But, vacation time is taken too far ahead, my week-long trip is happening and I don't trust the midwest enough to be driving back to Michigan mid-October. Sooo, does anyone have any...

Fall Mid-East trip, is my route feasible?

Will do, very curious to see how the fall colors are the week I'm down there... I'll get a few pics up and hopefully a ride report when I return. :) I'll be staying at KOAs for most of the BRP area, not sure how that will work out but as a solo rider with a tight budget I figured under $30...

    2 bros slip on

2Bros do have a great sound, mellow and throaty with a nice shriek over 6500-7000 that just sounds nasty. ;) Best of luck with the sale, sorry they didn't work for ya... I love mine!

    Yamaha top-case

I personally thought the factory Yammie case was fugly... I really love my GIVI E52 and think it looks great, very euro sport touring. Also, BIG plus is the additional lighting NOT available on the Yamaha cases. I have the Admore LED kit and it really improves the visibility both day and...

Fall Mid-East trip, is my route feasible?

Hey Dr, funny you mention that... I'm expecting delivery of my brand new loaded DayLong saddle 4 days before I leave. Even added the dual heat option for those cold mornings! <_< Good news, I'll have a comfier butt... bad news is I'll be breaking it in on the trip. Oh well, I'll be...

    1998 Honda CBR1100xx Blackbird

That's a sexy bike, always liked the way they looked! Nice price too, lot of bike for a little $$$. Too sporty for my touring needs, but great bike for commuting I'm sure. Best wishes on your sale, looks like a great deal for someone! :)

Could use some help with getting an E55

+1, ditto, etc. Definitely recommend the Givi SR357 rack if you're adding a monster E55 box to your bike. Once you see what's under your pretty plastic tailpiece, you'll be glad for the extra support with the larger base rack and extra support to the forward frame. Totally don't understand...
