    Riding with cruisers

Very good report Walter. :yahoo: Yes, veeeeeeeeery slow. Felt good to touch 65mph two or three times. Worst of it for me was the surging back and forth to stay in formation. Lower back and girly grip really felt it the next day. (But what can you expect from someone that uses his helmet to...

    Dealer performs hack job!

If you get time, read some similar stories pinned under the tech/mech problems section. Thought I was safe to take it in under recall. Now I'm learning-to-learn how to do as much of my own work as I can.

At Last: Pictures of My Black Beauty

I like the farkle mounted on the back, but probally doesn't hold as much as a Givi. Just being silly again.

Top gun shelf? I got today, but no instructions????

"Ok, does a man ask for instruction or just play with it like a puzzle?" Never asked for instructions; never thought it was a puzzle; always played with it! Sorry, couldn't help it.

    inquiring FJR

Howdy Rob. Read more of the postings here. You'll find that for most the FJR is the perfect all-round bike. The AE is no different. Between the 07, 08, or 09 there is essentially no difference. Go for the best deal of out of what's available. Put the extra dollars elsewhere. If you have a...

    FJRF003.1: Ignition Switch

This is a better topic site to add a comment about checking over the work done by the servicer before riding away. See my topic "New ignition switch...new wobble" for a background story. The following pics illustrate the disregard to an expected level of quality service. First is one of the...

New ignition switch/tires = new wobble

It may not be the answer to your problem, but check them nuts and bolts at the other end of the forks. The bars and upper tree had to come off for the switch replacement. There's also been bad mojo reported about it all getting put together properly after recall servicing.

    New ignition switch...new wobble

A short update: I took the backrest off and checked the suspension, and confirmed that’s not a contributing factor (didn't think it would be). Test runs found the wobble worse than originally known. Starting out at 65mph, I allow a hands-off decel and get the wobble beginning at 55mph through...

    New ignition switch...new wobble

All good stuff. Thanks to all. I finally did a search, and yes, it is well covered here. Been signed up since about September and lurked for about 10 months before that and still missed that whole section (and more no doubt.) I have miles on the tires, cal sci medium shield, and a pillion back...

    New ignition switch...new wobble

v65, I'll pass that on to him. Thanks.

    New ignition switch...new wobble

Thanks Renegade. Tires have 5000 on them and it could be coincidental that the timing of this follows the loose bolt/nut issue. (still very fresh in my mind at the time) Capt. Bob, thats my question too, if they could become askew. The wobble wasn't noticed with hands weighted on the bars...

    New ignition switch...new wobble

A few weekends ago I went to get the ignition switch replaced (via recall) on my 08 AE. My buddy rides along on his 07 AE for the same thing. The dealer/shop has both bike for about 2 hours and the replacements are completed. I look over the ignition area to see if there is any noticable changes...
