Bug stains?! Surely, this can’t be.

I think I have the same thing. The 3-D stuff came off but a sort of faint ghost splat image remains. I haven't been too concerned about it because I doubt if anyone really will notice other then me. I also haven't tried anything other than the usual drive way wash and wipe dry with micro...

    Bill Mayer Saddle

I'm glad I did a search and found this. I did the spencerizing and am not totally happy. The Bill Mayer seat looks to hve smaller "wings" out the side and I liek that. I was doing a search before asking the question: does anyone ever sell the Bill Mayer seat? I guess I got you post as part...

    Engine Heat and saddle

There is some minor controversy on this but the fairing out is the position you want to make your winter riding a bit warmer. Close those up and it might help some. +1 on what others have said about wearing boots and pants. You've got the seat in the low position, right? Have you tried...

    My left boot

I think you need an old school shoe guy or consider covering your shift peg.

    First FJR sighting

here is the 8/7 update: https://www.state.sd.us/news/showDoc.aspx?i=11088 almost all categories for Sturgis look down from last year. I wonder if attendance and thus these '09 numbers are down from last year. I really need to get a life, right? If it wasn't 99 F and heat index of 107 I'd...

    First FJR sighting

well, things seem to be winding down at Sturgis Rally as of Sat pm....few "arrival" pictures being posted. However, there is a FJR making his way through the gauntlet...go to 080609b picture 0639 on page 20. Since I obviously can't tell one blue year from another I'll just say it is another...

    Any members in Estes Park?

Jerry, did you get rained on? We were there a week ago today, through Wednesday and headed out Thursday morning. Rain, and lots more than normal, every day. The place we stayed was on 7, on the side of prospect mountain looking over the golf course in EP. Lots of rain one afternoon with...

    Bike Dolly

My wife got me the HF version for Christmas. On sale it was $99. I like it a lot. I guess it does help the global economy but local guys work at the HF store so it helped them, too. If you want some measurements from my dolly let me know and I will take some for you. What I like about it...

    Any members in Estes Park?

The plan was to ride out from KC over two days with a buddy (has a H-D). Then meet up in EP on Saturday night with two others driving a Navigator from KC. Hike for Sunday through Wednesday in RMNP. Then get up Thursday and bikes head to Taos/SF, NM and Nav heads home. But...the terrain of...

Need Sante Fe & Albuquerque info

Lodging: The El Rey. '50s style, clean, as affordable as anything decent in SF will be. Not w/in walking distance to downtown but a straight shot there. They have a good breakfast or there is a diner just north of there that is a 2 min walk. Other eating: La Choza...sort of hard to find but...

    Any members in Estes Park?

Checked the member map before the post and closest is Longmount or Loveland, can't recall for sure. I'll pass on the hill climbing, thankyouverymuch.

    Any members in Estes Park?

I'll be in Estes Park Saturday through Wednesday. Looking for a secure place to park my FJR for 4-5 days since the house we are renting is up a steep, graveled and rutted road. Thanks. Lee

    Tourtech Side Stand enlargement foot

I did the same thing in round cuz I had one laying around the shop. I used about 5' of nylon cord and tied it to the hole in the cover. The cord has a loop on one end. When the plate is in place I use the loop to tether the thing to the left grip. Then when I'm in the saddle I can pick up...

    First BIG trip Wed

for some peace of mind you might want to download the fjr members assistance pdf. I've heard the bags stay dry as long as the gaskets are lined up and have not been crimped by shutting something over the gasket causing it to deform.

    Attn: WI riders

Can't report on 44. I'll have to do that another time. That was going to be an alternative loop to take before heading into Winona, MN but we cut that loop off to get to Winona sooner. Our departure from the motorcycle museum at Anamosa was a bit later than we had planned on. Lee

    Attn: WI riders

Gramps, My plans were so up in the air I didn't finalize until late 6/30. On 7/1 took off for Anamosa, IA with a buddy. He rode with me that day and the next and then we parted company. Day two was Anamosa to Winona, MN via some interesting roads in IA, WI, MN. Day three was on my own E...
