    Bad Battery

BTW, the battery is a new Yuasa and is fully charged. I'll start pulling fuses and see if I can find a problem.

    Bad Battery

What's a reasonable residual amperage draw for a 2006 FJR1300AE? At operating temperature the datel voltmeter will drop below 13.8 v at 1150rpm idle. Fans not on. Stator and voltage R/R are both new. Bike has 98,200 miles on it (all mine) and it has been flawless. The cover on the stator get's...

    Petey

I rode thousands of miles with Petey to and from FJR events in the US and Canada. He was a fine rider and a great riding bud. RIP Petey

    2011 FJR1300 ABS

Great looking bike Dunk. The all silver 2010 and 2011 are my fav FJR colors. Question, has the 26K valve check been done? If I were younger I would make you an offer although your price is quite fair. I'm 80 and my '06 AE has 91K (all mine) on the odo. It has been a great bike and it has been...

Charging voltage drops when engine gets warm

Well I just got off the phone with the service mgr Dean at Stadium Yamaha. For $40 they will test it and tell me what's wrong. They have done the three valve checks on my AE in the past and have done excellent work for me.

Charging voltage drops when engine gets warm

The fans on my FJR don't come on until the temp gets to 8 bars. Even running the rpms to 5000 for a short time the temp would not go above 7 bars and no fans. I ran the same rpm/voltage tests today and got essentually the same results. I run two house fans, one on each side directed at the...

Charging voltage drops when engine gets warm

'06 AE with 83+K miles (all mine) new fully charged battery with tight connections. The only thing I have done in many months is add the new battery which I keep on an Optimate 3 charger. Datel meter wired directly to the battery terminals. All recalls done. I have Brodie's ignition relay and...

    Announcing! FJR-NERDS 2012

Home yesterday afternoon. Had a perfect trip, no hits no runins and no scratches to buff out. Thanks Fred and all those that helped you with the heavy lifting. It was a real sight for sore eyes riding through GREEN Vermont. It's brown in much of Texas right now. I enjoyed rubbing elbows with you...

    Ride to SWFOG, Salida, CO

Ken, I enjoyed your ride report and pictures. Great save with your deer "meeting". Good playing on the links. Your skill at riding carries over to golf as both require good hand eye coordination. I played at the game with varying degrees of success on and off for 65+ years but no longer play. As...

    SW-FOG "Home Safe" Thread

Left 5:45AM local, home 8:20PM central, 742 miles. Temps were 100 to 108 the 360 miles from Amarillo to Dallas. And dang, the A/C in my jacket wasn't working. Another fun SWFOG gathering. Thanks.

    Apres NAFO Check-In

Home this afternoon, the GPS says I did 4632 miles. Thanks Jeff and all your helpers for another memorable Canadian gathering. Saw lots of wild game during the trip, some were actually animals. The real treat was the fully grown mountain lion that crossed I-15 about 150 yds in front of me...

    Nosecone's B-Day today

Indeed many thanks for all the well wishes on my bday. I ride as much as I can these days while I am still able and of course Petey is a great riding bud to travel with. You know Don, I used to be able to speak Spanish as I was born in Tampico, Mexico as my dad was employed by Sinclair Oil...

Home safe thread - SFO 2012

Home about 4:30 Sunday afternoon. 74 west of Jasper is no fun in a thunderstorm. Visor fogged up, opened visor some, glasses fogged up, couldn't see squat. Opened visor all the way up, rain on glasses, lowered windshield all the way so wind would blow rain off glasses. Could barely see the road...

    Life After Retirement

Woa Don.... just for the record, no I have never been to Alaska. But Petey has, twice. I have ridden many thousands of miles with Petey and once asked him why he never took any pictures. He said he had hundreds of pics from rides at home already. Anyway, Petey earned his retirement. When he...

    New Toy in the Garage

Hell Don, I couldn't keep up with Petey on his Versys. But he is considerate of some of us old guys and slows down when the roads straighten out so we can catch up. Sneaky Slow Nosecone

    New Toy in the Garage

Peter that's a mean looking red riding machine. I looked at it at a local Honda dealer when they first cane out. Great looking bike. Congrats
