    Yamaha Announces 2011 FJR

.. and it seems to me the reason most people keep wanting a 6th gear, is to reduce the high frequency buzz, not realizing the ratio is already <1 as noted many times. It's cruising RPM and gas milage is already very very good.

    Vibration problem fixed

There was a Service question in either Cycle World or Motorcyclist a month ago about an '09 FJR and vibration issues. After all the usual items to check, there was a reference given to work GM did a while ago while developing a Corvette, and vibration relate issues. One conclusion was that...

Difficult Slow Speed Steering on '07 FJR

On my 08, when original Bridgestones hit 5-6 k, it steered very heavy. Next up was Dunlop Roadsmart(s), felt absolutely wonderful when new, and at 5-6k, started to steer like a truck. Now Michelin PR2's, and again feels great so far @ 1k on them. Waiting to see if they last longer than Dunlops...

    New windshield

what a touching story, Baz, only goes to prove men ARE from Mars and women ARE from Venus. I'm only 5'7", but after trying a CeeB standard +2 +4, I sold it and got a CeeB reverse flip +2 and in the down position I couldnt believe how absoluty quiet and turbulence free it is. The flip is great.

    2008 FJR Pricing

Just outside Buffalo, NY: paid 12,400 before taxes, etc. back in late January. Picked it up on a sunny dry day. Very happy 6,000 miles later. Motor and shifting both get smoother with miles like most people say. I rode a C14 and a K1200GT and feel i made the right choice.

    oil site glass

I too have found that if you fill it, start it, let it sit, then add to the full mark, the next day the window mysteriously is comletely filled and I have to drain a little . So now I fill with the amount in the manual, ride it for a day, and top off to the full mark, which is just a tad more...

    rattel in 08

oops, for some reason I thought you had an 08 FJR. you didn't say what the bike was. But if it has floating front discs, I stand by the above.

    rattel in 08

I have the same bike and it's my first with floating front calipers. They rattle over litle bumps when the front brake isn't in use. That's all. If you still hear noises when the front brake is applied, it's something else that needs to be checked out.

Difficult Hard Bag Removal on new 08

When I picked my 08 up in January the friendly dude in service explained that they do sound like they're breaking, it's a bad sound. But he said it is normal when new and lo and behold the little manual that came with the bags states this very same thing. hope this eases your mind.

    06-08 Adjustable Side Vents

Since I've only been able to ride this great bike in very cold weather so far, I can't tell which position does what with the side vents. I think they push the hot air coming out of the vents in front of them further out (away from the rider), when they are in the extended position, so that...

    cee bailey with flip

Thanks for all the input, I think I'll put some more miles on this one but I feel OK now about getting a Flip if need be.

    cee bailey with flip

Can anyone comment on the effects of the Cee Bailey's windshield with Flip on handling ? I have a +2 / +4 standard contour and it's better than stock for sure, but have read many positive commnets on the "flip". I just don't want to find out there's a surprise at high speed. Thanks.
