    Parental rant

Kinda figure kids have it tougher these days: 1. They gotta support an aging population of baby boomers who know what the good life is and expect to enjoy every minute of it from the luxury of their early retirement and very long life spans 2. Baby boomers own everything, I mean EVERYTHING...

    How the government really works

Soem examples of Government cost savings. They are “allegedly” true stories but fortunately these practices no longer exists (we can only hope): Canada: The Canadian Government had put in place stringent measures to ensure that money was wisely spent in providing plant and equipment for the...

    How the government really works

So Orangevale....I'm sure this a question the Government would ask... How much do they pay the kid to gaurd the cattle?

    He's baaaack....

Cases like this stink to high heaven. It would be interesting to see the stats on decisions for second degree manslaughter compared with the social/economic position of defndants. But at the end of the day, whether it was a motor cyclist, pedestrian, push bike rider, passenger or car driver...

    Vincent Motors

Price point is expected to start at $US20,000, probably more when/if they get to market given this expectation is maybe a couple of years old. The company announced its intention to be in production for year 2004. Last article I saw on the machine was a 2005 publication which maintained the...

    Testament to Modern Medicine

Plain Dave, according to Snopes you are right, the guy was driving a truck and therefore in a "fixed" position. If he were on a bike I think you'd expect to see very different and more wide spread injuries. Don't think I'd be too happy about surviving an accidient like this one given the...

Warchild Help Settle The Oil Issue!

Hi Donald I have the same thing happen on my FJR from time to time. Usually happens witihin the first couple of km of starting the engine and after/as I go around a right hand bend. I beleive it has something to do with the location of the low oil sensor which is activated when the oil moves...

    Unscrupulous Dealer

Just tuned into this thread. Sorry to hear about your "misunderstanding" with the dealer but if happens. $100 isn't worth wasting the family fortune or your sanity over, but there are consumner bodies/laws you can use to press the principle. In the absence of a contract and evidence of a...

    Fuel Economy

Never been happy with fuel consumption on the FJR. I rarely get above 40mpg (imperial not US) and I don't really thrash the bike. Solved that now...bought a car with drinking problem last month so the FJR looks real frugal now. Its all a matter of perspective!

    ZX-14 info in Motorcyclist

"Dangerous Dave Posted on Dec 9 2005, 08:45 PM QUOTE (FJRZON @ Nov 20 2005, 10:24 AM) Disagree Afterburn. One of my gripes…has been the FJRs oem ape hangers. I would prefer a much longer/further and lower reach. The FJR makes up for it in other ways with its excellent amenities that are...

Cold Weather Riding: Going the Distance

Bruno, thanks for posting this. Its amazing how just a little oversight can cost you big time in cold wealther. Our winters don't get as cold as even your autums, but this year I was riding back from Victoria and made wrong turn. It put 2 hours on my trip along the foot hills of the Snowie...

    1971-- FJR's long lost relative

Hey Bobby... same here. My first bike after I got my licence was the RD250. Great little bike to have a blast on and cheap and easy to get a few extra hp out of. Could wheel stand right through to 6th gear if you kept it within its tiny 1500rpm power band! I later played with the Kwaka 500 2...

Suzuki salesmen drooling over my '05 FJR

Throttlejockey, engine displacement of the Suzuki is 1100cc. Yes, I'm put off the new FJR by the full auto clutch. Suzuki have the right idea and the right reasoning for retaining manual operation as a rider option. Not sure I like the blue "mood" lights on the Suzuki, but I assume these can...
