At least the saddlebags match now

Maybe you can blame it on the lack of oxygen at such a high altitude! I remember the first time that I dropped my old Virago. It was my first bike and had been riding it for about six months without a scratch. I was living in San Francisco and had gone down to the farmer's market off...

As a fellow MTBer, I hear ya. I used to stop at the same intersection on my old Virago and it was never an issue. That bike was easy to handle leaning at a stop. Not so much with the FJR.

Yeah, the sliders prevented more damage that actually occurred, but I never expected them to prevent all damage.

Oooooh. Good to know. One of these days, when I actually have the full day free, I'll have to ride with you guys. I always wanted to be part of a horde of bikers. :) Not sure that the liner spray is my style. I was thinking something along the lines of putty to fill the scratches, some...

At least the saddlebags match now

Holy crap! OK, the first time was caused by me not being used to the top-heaviness of the FJR. I was on my way home from a business day-trip to San Francisco and I swung by a friend's house in El Cerrito. As I was leaving their house, I stopped at the stop sign at the end of their street at an...

    Saddlebags- On or Off?

90% on. I work out of the house so I don't get those calls from my wife to pick up stuff on the way home, but I do use my bike for running daily errands. The side cases give me a very convenient place to put my helmet when I stop somewhere and I have used them to carry all sorts of stuff home...

    A Weekend at Bucks Lake

OK, you got me. That's my wedding picture. :D And, yes, I know that I'm going a little gray.

Man, you certainly do get around. I'm sure that you won't be disappointed in your rides while in NorCal.

    A Weekend at Bucks Lake

Well, there it was, the middle of June, nearly three months since I bought my 2007 FJR, and the odometer was still under 2,000 miles. While I’ve been riding it nearly every day around town, and taking short jaunts during the day when I can, my need to make a living and my desire to spend time...

My New Favorite Ride in N. CA.

I think that I've just found part of my route home from my upcoming weekend camping at Bucks Lake. Oroville-Quincy Highway on the way up, back home via La Porte road through Grass Valley and then Salmon Falls Road to my doorstep. Now if I can only remember to carry a camera in an accessible...

    Quick change artists (fun stuff)

I tend to be cynical when I see magic performances (""Oh, the magician must have simply..."), but that was pretty impressive.
