If you store your FJR outside how do you protect it?

I left mine out all winter (in Birmingham, AL area). Had no problems using this cover: https://www.carscover.com/Yamaha-FJR1300A-Ultrashield-Motorcycle-Cover-Motorcycle-Cover-P180-SP4606NB.html

    Lost front fender and…

Thanks everyone for the replies to my post. I'm "over" the embarrassment and a little wiser from the experience. I was able to get a new fender over nighted into St. George, UT along with mounting hardware (and I bought six extra windshield screws to keep around). The fender seemed to be...

    Lost front fender and…

So I’m at 1100 miles of 1800 on day three and my front fender comes off at 65 MPH. It’s embarrassing because I’m riding with my Dad who has a 03 VTX 1800 with 40,000 miles (of course he’s had no issues). I’m at 21,000 on a “touring” bike and stuff is falling off. I get to Utah (from Alabama)...

    GPS on my Android

The difference that I see is the Good Navigation requires the cellular network. The NDrive works off net which guarantees you'll have GPS when the phone is not working (be sure to have extra memory on the SD card). I can't actually compare to Google as I'm new to Android and the navigation...

    GPS on my Android

Just loaded this on my Android. Haven't had a chance to try it yet. Looks like they have a 7 day trial if anyone is interested in giving a try. https://www.ndriveweb.com/

    Motus

There is more on the two who started the company in the Birmingham News today. I am unable to find this article online but was able to find this: https://blog.al.com/businessnews/2010/01/bi...ams_with_m.html Pretty exciting to see this company come around and be so close to home. I expect...

    2005 non-ABS to ABS

I was afraid of this answer. Oh well... Maybe one day I can upgrade. In the meantime I'll just ride with plain ole breaks like so many have before me. Thanks for the reply!

    2005 non-ABS to ABS

I bought my 2005 FJR used about a year ago. One regret is the bike has no ABS. I'm wondering if it's possible to convert the bike to an ABS system. Has anyone ever done this? I can't find any discussion on the forum about this topic and thought I would throw the question out there. Thanks!

    my stupid complacent mistake

Thanks to this forum, I was able to get the bike up. I remember several months back finding a link explaining the technique and how to get a bike back up to normal position. Even with the technique the FJR was no light weight. I'm sure there are heavier bikes but I'd have to say mine is...

    my stupid complacent mistake

Last Wednesday morning I go outside to mount up for the daily commute. The FJR is outside and it's earlier than normal (6 a.m. and still dark out). I rock the bike back and then forward to get off the main kick stand. Before I could realize what is happening the bike begins to lean to the...

    Motovation slider install on 05

O.K. I've looked for this in the forum with no luck. About a month ago I installed my new (no cut) frame sliders from Motovation on the 05 FJR. I installed the right side first, then went to the left side only to realize that I had the spacer in the wrong place on the right side. So after...

10000 mile impressions from new FJR owner

I agree with the above quote! I think we tend to gravitate towards "the awesome wonder of such a perfect machine" a little to much. Maybe a thread for ways Yamaha could make an even more perfect FJR? This would at least save future generations money on all the extra number of falkles. Lords...

Sounds like great fun. I would love to hit that area again. Unfortunately I'll need to stay in Alabama this weekend. Thanks for the invite though!

    Grip Warmers

The original owner told me the grip warmers were from Yamaha. At this point I don't know what they are. They served the purpose but now I have to fix a problem caused by someone being lazy. Anyway... The rivet problem must not be original to me and this bike. I looked for one I could borrow...
