My dealer (Del Amo Motorsports) finally found the recall (I had to call them several times). Part is on order and will be here shortly. Hopefully I won't have any issues riding out there for the install (70 mile trip).

Well, the lady at Yamaha did say, "We didn't issue the recall, but we know about it and it is being looked into." There was a certain tone in her voice when she said that it was "being looked into."

I told them NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Admin) had already issued the recall and that it was on the NHTSA website. Both the dealer and Yamaha said they couldn't find anything for my 2006 FJR (after a VIN check). Either the people I was talking to had rectal myopia... or I'm one of...

I called the phone number on the recall and spoke to corporate. They ran my VIN and told me they didn't find anything for my bike (2006). They stated they were aware of the recent ignition switch recall, but said that the recall was not issued by them... and that they were "looking into it"...
