Reasons NOT to purchase Power Commander V ?

I would also like more information as it seems there is a split between whether this is a worthwile addition.

Top quality HID kits for the FJR

Thanks - I know it was a silly question, but I honestly could not remember if the lights worked with the key or engine on! Major brain fart!

Top quality HID kits for the FJR

Here's an easy question - just wanted to make sure. I have installed this setup today and the lights don't come on with the switch. Here's the dumb question - does the bike need to be started for these lights to work? If not, then I believe I have the culprit, but will wait until I hear back...

    PAIR Removal

I cold get it out now I suppose, but would need to remove the tube to do it. Don't want to mess with dropping the coolant level, etc. etc. It will bug me for while, but I will get over it.

    PAIR Removal

Somehow I knew Fred W would chime in with the Gen I comment! :P Ya, I had read and re-read on this topic for weeks before I got my bike and thought no problem. Ugh, was I wrong.

    PAIR Removal

Just getting around to posting my PAIR removal nightmare. Man, what a PIA that was for me! First, I had no idea there was a YELLOW thread locker. I have heard of blue, heard of red, but not yellow (googled it and not sure why they used yellow, but they did.) I have never come across bolts...

    GPS Score!

Refurbished - not new. Saw them cheaper if I wanted used. I'll spend the extra $20 for NIB and in hand toady.

    GPS Score!

Was looking at the Garmin 1490 to purchase and happened across it at my local Costco for only $199.99 - cheapest I could find online was $250. Gotta love Costco.

    TireGuard TPMS 2-Wheel System ???

+1 have used this on all my bikes for years with no issues. I did a balance with them and some without a balance and couldn't tell the difference. My set is off by about .2 on each tire - pretty good. Either that or my tire guage is off! Nice to simpy push a button and check pressures before...

Thanks for the review! Sounds like a great ride except for the heat. Mine is garaged the next few days since we are over 100 here!

    06+ specific help needed

The TM must be moved - you cannot move the throttle tube. I would disassemble the TM and make sure the insert flange is actually inserted all the way or "deeper" into the throttle tube. Next, make sure the rubber lip that the TM screws against (which creates pressure on the throttle to hold it...

Advice on placement of Power Commander?

I thought PAIR removal was necessary if you install Autotune as well . . .

    WynPro ( BIG-FOOT)

Love this little farkle. Was out today with the little oh hot sun here in Nor Cal and man it was nice to have the piece of mind. Used JB weld (so much fun) and painted it with some gloss black. You wouldn't know this wasn't stock. Great little doohicky. Thanks!

    AE Chuggin

I have not stalled it since the first day. I was WAY too light on the throttle when it was bone cold and it died. The chug is gone after the dealer service. He adjusted the doohicky and thingamajig and now I only feel the clutch when I come to a slow, creeping stop. Feels fine now.

Reasons NOT to purchase Power Commander V ?

Same here - I was going to wait on the PCV until spring, but am adding it in the next few weeks. I will be doing the PC8 from Eastern Beaver (check out his wiring harness for the FJR - nice work). The PAIR has been installed, now trying to decide if it is worth the extra dough for the...

Looking for opinions on a nice helmet

All online places now are doing free shipping over a certain amount. I agree to keep brick and mortar in business, but the tax avoidance is always a plus for me!
