I found the windshield lowered from it's highest position was more comfortable too. An acquaintance and former colleague of mine sold me a brand new larger Cee Bailey (?) wind shield. I plan to put that on this spring too.

The senior mechanic at the shop where I bought my bike said to ride it like you normally would but to not let it get too hot for the first while. Stop and go city driving in light traffic so you can wind it up a bit works well I think.

No, I don't have a throttle lock yet. That's next on my list. I only have about 5,000kms on the bike and it's not all "farkled" up yet. I have to grip the throttle side fairly hard due to the stiffness of the throttle. Might help to reduce that a bit. I usually try to ride fairly relaxed...
