Got an 05 650 Vstrom and love it! One of our locals here put knobbies on it and single tracks it, I'm not that brave. I'm thinking better than the 1000, lighter (by 50lbs), great MPG, dirt and rough roads not problem, I've lowered mine (5'6") and it needs a better seat for long rides. Goes 75...

I've used these ear speakers for years they are wonderful blocks the road noise and pipes in wonderful music, and I paid a whole lot more than that!!!

Didn't like the gloves, I've got small hands and thick gloves just made it worse for me, so I went with the grips and have not been disappointed. My hands get cold easily, so if I'm covering the front brake those fingers tend to get cold, which they wouldn't with gloves. Heated grips allow use...

I'm guessing without knowing that rebuilding would be out of the ? with labor so $$$$, why not try to find a wrecked FJR and get a salvage engine. I'd bet there some out there with very low miles. Anyway that's M2C.

Nothing wrong with gloves per say, however for folks like me that are digit challenged it moves my fingers a bit further from the grip and didn't like the sense of "feel". But if they work, they work.

Just finished putting on this Aussie cc on my new 06 and offer up these observations: Documentation is 1st rate install instructions are 48 pages with pics and/or drawings at every step. Quality a bit hard to judge at this point, but appears to be high. Cost is high, depending on currency...
