    GTR oh-no

holy shit...am i late to this game. over a year late.... anyway...the vid is not available anymore, but from the pics it looks pretty clear that the front was sliding in the right-hander, caught and shot over to the other side to cause a low side on the left. typical of rear end biased...

    Pilot Road 2 - who's got 'em?

you're on crack...but, hey....who isn't these days. like other people said later in their posts....chapparral website says they don't have pilot road 2's. only pilot road. i called chapparral just now and they confirmed no pilot road 2's in stock. $151.85 for a 120/70zr17 front, and $194.85...

    Tires...again

all the ones i've seen were at the track....and they were not that noticable until they started seperating and caused a vibration.

    Tires...again

i agree with the guys that are saying you are describing a worn profile tire to a 't'. once the radius is no longer consistent...the bike handles like poo. i go through this endless cycle of hating my bike more and more to the point i want to sell it...then put tires on it and fall in love again.

to plug or not to plug?

take this for what it's worth. i'm an engineer (so i understand the stress risers and the rotational forces involved) a wera racer (so i will put a tire to it's ultimate limit and usually destroy...i mean destroy...a tire in less than 75 miles on the track) plug patch is totally safe but the...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

how about if those 'internet people' are people who have been riding for 20 years and have raced for a few years and won multiple championships and teach at trackday schools?

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

yes. it's just like sliding in the dirt on a bmx/dirt bike....or even sliding on the ice in a car. there are two limiting factors, however. one is it has to stay smooth. if the back end stepped out under power it has to stay spinning and under power while you countersteer - stand it up a bit...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

i'll state it in a little shorter terms: if you slide....realize that something went wrong. each time you slide...think of it as a mistake, and do something next lap to prevent the slide. some ideas: - use more gradual throttle at corner exit...you'll find you can apply it earlier if you're...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

it was an analyzation of some facts...but didn't identify what he did wrong - or what would have prevented him from crashing. as is the case in almost every crash: it wasn't the greasy track, or the tire condition, or the inconsistent lines....it was the rider not noticing the bike telling him...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

was i wrong....yes. was it anything important....no. am i pissed that i was wrong....no are you a dick for jumping on the bandwagon....yes are you familiar with the adage that people's pet peeve's are things they are most guilty of....prolly not did you realize saying i need to check my...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

ok...so i'm wrong. the video was all skipping for me...and i thought there were slideshow type pics at the end. right where vicki usually takes pics...i still wouldn't doubt that she got shots of it. 600rr/1000rr...look a lot alike on the track from the rear....600 outnumbers 1000 probably...

WERA Highside at Jennings GP track

i've raced with WERA at jennings....that turn at jennings is deceptively tight. only turn on any racetrack i've ever been that would drag my shifter lever and pop it into neutral....twice! i'm sure vicky (vhsphotography) is who got the pics. glad he's alright....hope he got that 600rr back...

WTB: windshield, bar end weights, cruise control

i currently have a taller than stock yamaha shield....think i want to buy a stock screen and compare back-to-back. but will probably sell/trade the tall one looking to do an iron butt in about a month...and am sure the right hand will fall asleep from the tinglies about 20 times if i don't do...
