I'm sure it's been a topic in the past, but how about the speedometer? The difference between my speedo and Garmin increases with speed. 80 MPH on the speedo = about 75.5 on the Garmin. However, 140 on the speedo = 131 on the Garmin. Anyone else?
So there are two! We have each side of the state covered. Actually, I know there are a few on the east side. Just about everywhere I go, people look at it like they've never seen anything like it before.
Thanks for the info.
Thanks. I appreciate the info. I need to figure out what is wrong with mine.
Violione,Thanks for your help. Have you ever taken off the tupperware just below the little storage compartment by the heat controller? Are the wires the grips plug into black and the other gray...
I'm seeking an understanding of how Yamaha factory heated grips work on an '06 FJR 1300AE. If you have one, take a shot at these.
1. Do they work on any setting with air temp. of 80 F?
2. How long does it take for them to warm up?
3. Do they provide any warmth at an idle?
Alan,
Thanks for the info. So, if it's 80 F outside and I'm only going 40 MPH in 3rd, I may or may not get any heat to the grips on high or low?
Thanks,
Clint
I agree with you. I have a statement and a couple questions. If you take off the black piece of Tuperware to the left of the radiator and expose the back side of the side orange park/marker light, there are two open plugs. One is gray and the other is black. These have about 12.5 volts with...
Thanks for the input. Basics were covered. I will check for a "spurt". Troubleshooting is a little difficult when you plug into the machine and not your own design.
The instructions that came with the kit state 50% power to the grips under 8 MPH. Unfortunately, plugging into Yamaha's system on the bike makes it difficult to troubleshoot. Is there anyone out there who made the mistake of buying Yamaha heated grips?
I would agree that Yamaha's heated grips are very pricey ($415 US). Because of a problematic set of aftermarket grips, my dealer discounted the OEM grips nearly 40%. Yamaha sure goes overboard in this kit with replacing the throttle cable housing, etc., 14 parts total. So, the installation is...
