I suspect you're thinking of something that happened in the 2007 IBR regarding a satellite tracking device, and which wasn't actually against the rules at the time, but now would be.

looks like 2/3 of the field is converging at the group photo bonus in Coffeyville, KS.

They've done that a couple of times since the advent of the group photo bonuses, and it seemed to incentivize much of the bottom half of the field to get into the CP early and it gets a lot of people through scoring before it gets too late.

During the call in bonus, the riders were told in the recording that there's power at the checkpoint hotel. Also, sounds like there's a group photo bonus at 3 pm Central around 90 minutes north of Tulsa.

There was a rest bonus on this leg and the rest (points for at least 4 hours up to a maximum of 8) had to begin today [Tuesday] between midnight and midnight (eastern time). I've also heard second hand that neither Mike Brooke nor Jim Owen appear on the group page 🤷‍♂️

So many people up in Maine this morning (there's likely a big bonus in Bar Harbor) with over 1,800 miles to the checkpoint (with ~36 hours left) and many still intend on taking their rest bonus tonight. I was shocked to see how many people went for the Manhattan and Coney Island bonuses at...

I rode past him on the interstate at the time and it gave me a 2nd wind late in the afternoon. I saw someone running across an overpass, and my thoughts were.... - that's weird, what is that person doing? - are those pom poms? - oh, there's a sign - OMG, they're cheering for IBR riders 😂

7 of the '21 IBR top 10 are riding again including all of the top 5. There's also around 6-7 others that have either been top 10 before or have been top 3 in other multi-day rallies. Should be a good one.... @robcig Wendy is not riding

There's a BatteriesPlus in the Pittsburgh area that appears to have a compatible battery. Open until 5....

From the poster, my prediction is that more important than the theme itself, there will be five categories of bonuses (that # is based on the exit sign) and similar to 2017, the real trick will be how to optimally sequence them to get the most points....
