2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

It was running rough when it first started. But it smoothed out after I let it run for about 10 minutes. I think it had some fuel varnish/gunk in the fuel delivery system and it took a few minutes to rinse it out. It is running smoothly and idling fine now. Yeah, the missing spider appears to...

Yes. I am well aware of that. But thank you for your concern and warning ;) I hadn't planned to tear up the town like Brando: No, just up and down my block a couple of times. Never more than a block from the house in a residential neighborhood not known to be regularly patrolled by LEOs...

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

This thread is almost book length! :) You helped write it! :D The secret is all recorded here. Basically, the last step of the process was that I used Starting Fluid to get it to actually maintain combustion. I did that about 4 times. Came in to read some more, letting it sit about 10...

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

Okay. I cleared the Diag code, but it continues to show up. I replaced the missing mounting screw for the sensor. I took off the vacuum hose and checked it for obstructions - none. I used starting fluid on it and it fired up and ran long enough to burn the starting fluid. I think that's a...

Thanks, Ken. I just did. But code 13 keeps showing up. I found the sensor for the code. It is on the fuel rail. It looks fine, although one of the two mounting screws is missing. I will get a replacement screw tomorrow. I'm about spent for today. I'm a little bummed that it didn't start or try...

Hmmm, okay. Edit works just fine on my other posts. I've been editing the crap out of them when I need to place updates or fix errors. So, dunno what that's about. I am aware of the potential issues w/ the DMV. I have investigated it and found there is a process for re-VINing bikes like this...

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

Well, I had to download and read the Owner's Manual to find out that I have to apply the brake in order for the starter to engage. ! This is the first bike that I've ever encountered where that was necessary. So it works now. Now I need to put fresh fuel in it and see if it will run Still...

Yes, it has rubber plugs. Thanks Ionbeam. I'm thinking it is a connector to a missing Starting Circuit Relay.

Yeah, it looks like I confused Brown w/ Green in the wiring diagram I have. The resolution isn't great. Looking at pg 2 of the wiring diagram in the manual, it looks like it could be to a Starting Circuit Relay. That would make sense.

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

Yeah, thanks Admin. That is why I opened a separate thread for a separate issue after the first one was resolved quite quickly. You know, I read the forum rules (as many as I could find that is. There are dead links in the forum rules read this, etc.) And I didn't see anything prohibiting a...

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

Yes, thank you. Looking more at the wiring diagram in the service manual, it looks like it could be a connector to a YCC-S control relay. Perhaps the relay is missing? Maybe someone took it off and didn't put it back on?

Excellent. I'll try it. Thank you Okay, I tried it. I changed from N to 1st and the panel registered it, so I don't think that's it. I'm trying to trace it in the wiring diagram. It looks like it might be a wiring harness coupler. But for the life of me I can't seem to find where it couples to.

2006 FJR1300AE Mutiple Problems Needing Help

Hi guys. Thank you again for all your help yesterday So this morning I have cut off the S1 connector and spliced the wires together with a ground wire run back to the battery (they are temporarily bundled prior to soldering, to make sure I have the connections right). See pic: Good news is...
