    New Knee for Christmas

Everyone's post-op recovery is different but your Christmas won't necessarily suck! I had a both a hip and knee Farkle and, although the hip was easier, just a few days after my knee replacement I was walking fairly well and in considerably less pain than before surgery. Follow your Doctor and...

    WynPro ( BIG-FOOT)

These are GREAT and I wouldn't be without mine. Just don't skimp on the Loctite and, even then, check screw tightness often!

    1st tank of fuel observations...

Try moving out the two fairing panes by your knees. Remove the two, slotted, quarter turn fasteners, swing out panel, replace fasteners. This will deflect the hot air outward a bit, away from you.

    Cautionary Tales about Seth Laam!

"The first-world problem hand-wringing is cloyingly thick in this thread. rolleyes.gif" And why not?? This is a First World forum about expensive TOYS! It would seem more like a real problem had it happened to you.

Fall Foliage ride, New England and New Brunswick.

A BMW riding friend and I will leave Northwest Connecticut on Sunday, October 2 for Bar Harbor, Maine (home!). We will tour Acadia National Park and the surrounding areas for a few days and then follow the coast "Down East" to New Brunswick, Canada and Campobello Island. On our return we will...

What's the best brake light modulator?

My method for mounting the SUPERBRIGHT LED strobe head as an auxiliary brake light: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/strobe-fixtures/6-watt-vehicle-strobe-lighthead/1547/ The strobe kit is in two pieces, a base and the strobe head itself. I get a piece of sheet metal ($.75 galvanized...

What's the best brake light modulator?

The strobe module itself contains a control chip offering 18-20 different patterns (see video on their web page) which include steady on but none that flash and then stay on. Pity. The $5 controller did offer that pattern so I set my strobe unit to steady on and tried letting the $5 controller...

Is an oil cooler a bonus, a premium adder?

The FJR actually has an oil/water INTERCOOLER. Hot oil and thermostatically controlled engine coolant are routed through the INTERCOOLER where the coolant absorbs heat from the oil and carries it away to the radiator to be transferred out into the ambient air. This is way more efficient than an...

What's the best brake light modulator?

I've used this module on three bikes now, both as a stand alone unit using the various strobe modes (see video) and as a steady on unit controlled my the modulator in my previous post. It's BRIGHT and waterproof...

What's the best brake light modulator?

These are small, cheap, waterproof and work well: https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/strobe-controllers/brake-light-strobe-module/195/845/

    Got side case straps?

Ha! That would raise more suspicions than it settles, don't you think? My wife is certain that I'm never right and knows precisely when I was last Lucky!

    Got side case straps?

Curses, Foiled again! I just checked the strap, hoping for vindication but, nooooooo! I was wrong. They are, indeed, NON-elastic nylon web straps. RATS!

    Got side case straps?

RaYzerman19's generous has been offer accepted by PM. Please forgive my misstatement about them being elastic! My grievous BAD! I saw them hanging there and ASSUMED that they were elastic like those in my dear, departed ST1100. Thanks to all for your advice and input. Great forum.

    Got side case straps?

I need the internal elastic straps for one side case. Does anyone have a crashed case they might sell a strap from?

    2007, Pulled the trigger

If you are handy, check ALL the fluids to be sure they are both fresh and filled to the proper level. Personally, I do a FULL baseline service on every used bike I buy, even knowing that I'm probably doing some things early or redundantly. I like the feeling of KNOWING, ABSOLUTELY AND FOR...

    2007, Pulled the trigger

Congratulations! Love that color. I'm also new to the FJR. I have owned and still own lots of other great bikes but lately my "New" '09 FJR always seems to be the one that ends up parked closest to the garage door! 😁

    Earphones

I tried the Sure 215k's and really wanted them to work out. They didn't FOR ME. This is an important point for anyone reading this thread. We all have different shaped and sized ear canals, heads and helmets. The only way to know if a particular headphone or earbud works FOR YOU is to ride with...

    Earphones

My Etymotic Er6i's are the best ever. Very effective noise isolation (hearing protection!) combined with the best quality sound reproduction. Alas, they are discontinued. I tried these: https://www.etymotic.com/consumer/earphones/hf5.html The work and sound great but stick out a little further...

    Key blank

Got mine from this guy on eBay. Came quickly, work perfectly and look Close to OEM. These are made of chrome plated brass so hardness should not be an issue. My hardware store (which didn't have the right blanks) cut them with no problems at all...
