Tracer 9 GT as FJR Replacement?

Which road #s did you take? My son lives in Bishop,CA and we often go to Mammoth. I though a power road trip out to see him on the FJR (from Upsate NY) would be fun. Thanks for the insight... did you camp and if so, where as well? Happy New Year!

    Got the FJR itch!

Price about the same, resale about the same but can you put up with a few scratches for all the other mods? Even if you don't like the seat, sell it and make up the difference. The tail box is worth it's weight in gold if you travel and those are WAY more than $300. The tall screen is about...

    Gear changers

I have one of these Translogic Quickshifter Kits (and the auto-blip downshift on my R-1 track bike). The Quickshift is as smooth as manually "getting it right" but works 100% of the time. Too bad they don't have the Auto-Blip Downshifter for the FJR. https://translogicusa.com/quickshifters.php

Is The FJR1300 Dead? No 2025 Model?

My guess is (like the R6 and R1) the FJR and SuperTenere may be caught between emissions regulations, small niche markets and the cost to bring them into compliance. AND, if they do that, will also mean they roll out an anemic disappointment and the loss of the saddlebags since they will need...

Greetings from an aspiring FJR owner from Boise, ID

Also try CycleTrader.com I bought mine there... and plan on traveling. I'm in NY and drove to Kansas, and so worth it. I'm a fan of the 16+ with a 6 speed but if the budget doesn't allow that, I get it... HOWEVER, once you have cruise control (not a throttle lock) and heated grips, YOU'LL NEVER...

    Garauld Accessory Catalog Showcase

How much $$ for a highway peg set? ('17 ES) Are they solid metal pegs or rubber on top for vibration absorption? (I tried looking back on a few posts to find answers but didn't see, thanks for the help

    ABS Light Blinking

While you're cleaning the wheel speed sensors (front and rear), check the rotor with the slots in it (Hall Effect rotor) to make sure it has no debris nor corrosion that would also interfere with that circuit. I check them often on my FJR as I've had debris mess up the electronics on my R-1...

Took a while but it finally caught up

Salvageable? Yes Will it look perfect? Money dependent Can you do some of the work yourself? Huge $$ saver Are the frame/ forks /swingarm /wheels straight post crash? 99.99% perfectly fine This repair is all about the balance of time and money. How much of each do you want to spend? Best...

    Heading South

Is there any chance you have your route highlighted on a map? The day to day was awesome, but an overview of your trip would be cool to see and help me plan one of my own!! Thanks and thanks for taking the time to share your trip with all of us.

    Unusual Tire Wear

Actually it's NOT very unusual on these big bikes. And here is why- Think of how much weight is on that poor little contact patch when leaned over, on the brakes or not. THE OTHER THINGS that contribute to this (that I've never heard mentioned here) are: 1- Old, neglected fork oil that has...

    Heading South

Loving your trip almost as much as you, aside from reading it in the A/C (I'd still rather be riding). If you keep posting, I'll keep reading! Thanks. P.S. Next time in Moab, go to Canyonlands Nat'l. Park. I thought it was more scenic than Arches (in a different way though) and my wife said it...

    FJR1300 Speedometer

Definitely a brightness setting. Holler if you can't find the procedure. Mine is very unreadable at low settings, especially on a sunny day with glare. Not sure where I set it, 75% to full brightness, and never had trouble reading it since.

    The Repair and Upgrades Begin

Try taking your hands about 1/8" or 1/16" off bars on a3rd gear decel from 50 to 25... I'm curious if you get any slight shake/oscillation at the grips.

    The Repair and Upgrades Begin

Thanks for the insight and taking the time to address this. Actually, I've done them ALL... even bought the special tool to properly torque the steering head (to be used with a quality torque wrench). When I started to search the problem, I was floored at how many bikes (even from day one) have...

    The Repair and Upgrades Begin

My 2017ES shook on decel from 40mph down to 25. And on cruise control at 35. Changed to new Dunlop RoadSmart-4 and that only raised the shake 'window' up to 35 and 50. Bought it with 5k miles and now has 10k. When I get a few days, it's off to the garage for some bearing replacements. Some shake...
