Do you prefer riding jeans, or textile?

yes i can bear witness to the fact that poor fitting protective gear moves around the limbs almost immediately upon impact . When sliding down the road after the front 'let go' recently, i slid some 25 yards and for all but the initial contact with the road my protective pads in knees and thighs...

    Newest (to me) FJR

They've always shown 36 psi as far as I know. In wet conditions it possibly gives a larger footprint on the road. Generally and in traffic and slow riding I definitely prefer 42psi front/back.

    My first FJR!

I have similar year. Advise 42 psi front and back tyres🇬🇧at first to get used to the 'feel' of the beast. Don't touch the front brake if a slight turn even with abs.especially at slow pace with a turn. If the front is spongy when breaking hard at walking space turn down the fork adjuster at top...

    Road Noise

I use ear plugs . I also ride other bikes and particularly a gsxr which at 140mph has far more engine/exhaust/wind noise yet not so punishing on the ears. It's definitely the fender as i've taped a block of wood to it and 'perfection' almost silence!

    Road Noise

I've pin pointed the huge sound differences being thrown back . These are due to road surface changes and are magnified by the front mudguard🇬🇧/fender. The fender acts like an instruments amplifier rather like that of a stringed instrument and the body of that instrument. I've asked previously...

    Hi all, new from Oregon

Me.... i'd have been speechless and i hope they are giving you a free service as well as eating humble pie to allow for the incident and time lost. It's very rare to have a motorcycle shop knock over a bike in their care, i'd be asking more questions and request answers too. Were they having a...

    A Bad Blue-ridge Parkway Ride.

My thoughts go out to you Glen. Sounds like you took a real bashing from your injury list. The bike is not important at present, just get your body and mind back on track to fitness again. Best wishes, John (UK)

    Carbon Fiber Luggage Rack

50lbs is some weight right out the back. Perhaps some construction over the passenger seat area to bring the weight more to the middle of the bike? Most Schools and Colleges have design as a subject. Why not ask a number of them to give their ideas 😀👍

New Owner - Wild first ride!

If you purchased via a dealer i'd 'demand' in the nicest possible way that you would like a new tire and valve etc foc and deem them lucky you weren't killed.👍

Steering Head Roller Bearing - Upgrade or Boondoogle?

the bad tyre and wobble may have done the steering head bearings a lot of no good?

    What are buttons for?

Heated grips were common on 2008 but were an added extra. Cruise was on some models but not all 3rd Gen FJR's

    Wrist pain after 3 hours

No direct advice from me to solve your problem but there are some excellent suggestions so far and i'm watching the post with interest. I've experimented a little and found initially that it was my right hand on the throttle was giving me wrist ache possibly due to the fairly stiff return...

    New front tyre🇬🇧

Happy New Year to all. I've been saving up to have a new front tyre fitted to my Gen2 2008. At £130 (169USD) fitted it wasn't too painful. The old Bridgestone Battlax was very old having been sat unused in Guernsey for many years. It had also been under inflated when ridden and so suffered from...

Would you pay the Dealer or Replace ABS brake lines Yourself?

Hi torch, You're Dutch.... does that mean :- 1. Capable? or 2. Not keen on parting with your hard earned money? .... in England we think of the Scottish people of being like that. 😀👍

    Turn signal cancellation mechanism?

Manual only. My solution is to fit a small waterproof buzzer across each front indicator light. I simply cleaned back the wiring insulation on each side of the bulb and soldered on two wires from the buzzer. Important to wire in this way rather than breaking into one wire as the light will still...
