04 Honda Accord - Need some advice

Ok, center storage box has a vertical door (sits between the dashboard and center console) - ya press on the bottom and it swings open - except for mine! I'm sure something is blocking something in there that isn't allowing the latch to unlatch. Normally you press the bottom about 1/4" or so to release the door - I can still push in about that much but the doggone thing isn't unlocking. I'm not sure how it latches - I've run a thin metal dohicky under the bottom and there isn't any resistance. I tried various tricks to no avail - anyone else had this problem or have a suggestion?

or

Had this problem before with another car and just pried it open and ended up replacing the latch mechanism. Hope you have better luck than I had.

you can't unscrew the thing either. The screws are through the bottom of the center console and the top is a hinge, Did you try to hit the latch when you slide the thin metal dohicky? :assassin: ? might try to match it to the latch and push it to see if the latch will release.

Honda had a lot of trouble with the operation of this door when this model was introduced in '03. You might find a sympathetic ear at a dealer because of this.
