The electric solenoid lock on the current FJR's is a power hog. It consumes almost 10 watts. Fortunately, it's rarely energized.
It seems that the '06 lock release with be energized whenever the key is on. It will be a continuous consumer of scarce power. Hopefully, it's been redesigned to operate at a much lower power level.
Although it's not been publicized I expect the '06 charging system will have a somewhat higher output. It has more electrical loads (standard ABS, etc.) and an added 30 watt accessory power socket.
