As I sit and wait :dribble: I think about what I want to put on the bike. Taller windshield, frame sliders, and helibars. I am curious to know about how long after the new bike is out that they will have 06 versions of stuff? While your at it, who do you reccomend for these items?

Yeah, yeah, I know....just another waiter with questions......... :D

You might want to make a list: Motorcycle Larry, Heli Bar, CeeBaily, ....

and E-Mail them all and ask.

If one is local to you they may need a bike for a proto type and you could get the part for free.

I wrote to Cee Bailey and I have not heard back yet. Heli bars got back to me in a matter of hours and here is what Carol from Heli bars had to say:

"Thank you for your interest. If I remember correctly the FJR 1300 2006 model has been changed from the 2005 model. I do think that we will have some developed, I just don't know when. i will keep your email address on file and let you know if anything becomes available."

Welcome Sixfootfive! Personally, I really wouldn’t worry about “pre-farkling” your new bike until you accumulate several miles to get acquainted especially with the ergos. You may find you are quite happy with the OEM setup. The only thing you may want to do now while waiting for your ’06 is to purchase a good set of frame sliders and maybe some decent paint protection items. From there, see how your body adjusts to your new ride and add accordingly. Cheers!

I'm gonna give the dealership's mechanics get some time working on a few 06s before I let em get hold of mine.

I am immediately gonna have a Passport SXR radar detector w/laserjammers front & rear w/ a remote warning LED installed ..They are expensive and you can only buy them on ebay as only Franchised Car dealers are supposed to sell them....installation should run a couple of hundred more. I'm sure most of you could install it with your eyes closed...

My additional long range addons are definately going for the Russell Seat and by next year I hope someone will offer a wireless Bluetooth Comm package (hate wires) as helmet manufactures are suposidely working on Bluetooth enabled helmets as we speak...that'd be too kewl. Warchild has a kweel halogen light conversion upgrade he highly recommends, and even though his intructions are very clear, it looks a little too complicated for this boy.....just the sight of all the wires hanging down off the front of his bike with the fairing off, makes me break out in a cold sweet and want to go vomit!!!

Good luck

Do we know which frame sliders will work or not on the redesigned 06? Maybe the rdesign won't make any difference.I assume the frame bolts will still be the same size.

Someone's gonna be a happy camper again or is the R6, ahem, track bike dealio still on? ;)

TWN you have an unbelievable memory.

No comment to either of your comments at this point. :D

I was just trying to make a point for all the 06 waiters out there. :p

Glenn

... at this point. :D
Uh huh... ;)

(Hey, just tell her you'll get the 'French Option' on the '06, "But really, Hon, if I get the de-tuned motor, then Liquid will be able to keep up on his cute little Italian job!" :D :p ;) )

I doubt there will be much in the way of 06 specific farkles, as this is the last year for the FJR.

TWN, I've ridden with Liquid, quite a bit. I couldn't keep up with him on a PW50. Thats almost the truth. :D

The problem that got me in trouble is wanting to go faster than I can.

Rad, this is terrible news indeed. Just as they are ironing out some isssues, save for the added girth, I'm going to really miss it.

There ya go again, disrespecting bandwidth...

Glenn, I know... Just having some fun. I remember your description and photo's of your 'off'. But now, you are a much wiser, hence safer rider, no? ;)

Well after I contacted Heli Bars I realized that they are in ME and offered to use my bike as a prototype to design the new ones. I am supposed to call them when my bike is in..then it is off to ME. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think my first farkle will be a fenda extenda. Hopefully the front fender hasn't changed for 'o6. Next may be a tank bra. Does anybody make one for the FJR?

Welcome.

The '06 fender is very close to the cowling and the cowling may undercut the back of the fender. When I looked at the '06 at the Long Beach show, it did not seem to me to be room for a fender extender. Kees jour paint goonigh, Eddy.

Tank bras will take some time. Look for MagLight or Bagster for a full cover and tank bag set up.
