Anyone seen a 06 on the floor at a dealership in the southeast ? Friend looking. Thanks.

As of a week ago there was one at Extreme Power Sports in Columbia, SC. They wanted $12,800 not including tax and tags.

I know I'm new here, but I had to respond to this post as this board appears to be more about helping others than spouting BS like others...So here goes.....

And the reason they have 5 of them is?,,,,they want MSRP ($13,500) plus freight, makeready, etc and I'd guess they want $800 for the warrenty too.........THis is a big city dealer and they don't give a damn about anything but taking you to the cleaners...I think I'd just sit back, take a deep breath and relax, then call one of the dealers mentioned in here that'd be happy to take your deposit for an 07 for around $11,900. And that's out the door too....excluding TT&L

You haven't seen too many of odot's posts, have you?

Still, yours is good advice, if you're not in the "gotta have it right now" mode...

Well, I'm no fan of these guys but it's not quite that bad. They had 6 until two weeks ago and I got OTD for $13.8K

They seem reluctant to meet that deal again but the longer the bikes sit, the more motivated they'll become.

For me, the choice was buy from them now or save $600 and buy from Tony in August. I wanted one now. YMMV.

I was just in Metro Cycles which is located just West of Downton Atlanta a couple of days ago and they still have one sitting on the showroom floor. It's been there for almost a month and the owner was working hard to get me to buy it. I have purchased parts and accessories there but never a bike so I can't say how they are to deal with. I think Scab said that he bought a bike there. Good Luck...

I am actually not buying. Just hate to order one without even sitting on one. I'm on the taller side of things and just want to make sure it fits as good as it looks. Thanks though.

Chief,

There's a ton of us in the Houston area... if nobody else pipes up that's closer to you (TWILKIN maybe?) you can come down to Friendswood and sit on mine.

Mid Ohio Suzuki will have 2 unsold FJR's in July or August. Ph 740-397-5272

How much did they quote the warrenty for?

1 06 FJR on the floor in Beaumont, TX at Golden Triangle Yamaha 409-838-4746 and 1 in Lake Charles, La at The Yamaha Shop 337-436-8449. They were there Saturday 5/27/06. Both had $13,499 prices on the stickers but I didn't ask them to give me a price. Bought a Red FZ6 for my son at Golden Triangle for about $400 cheaper than The Yamaha Shop. I live about 2 miles from The Yamaha Shop but decided 55 miles to Beaumont wasn't too far to make $400.

Groo....you know me so well. But, I have a very good explanation for my frequency in posting and their content......or more likely....their lack of content. I have a monkey on my back by the name of "milwaukee's best". When me an my monkey are hanging out (which is every day)...it's in a lot of peoples best interest that I remain in a closed and secure environment.(check my spelling on that one). Not just for my safety, but, for everyone elses. As for the lack of "brotherly love" I so often exhibit....I'll stop for any scoot on the side of the road. "And that's all I have to say about that.....". I could have posted a smile face on here but, there ain't no smilie with a monkey on it's back......

Thanks a lot. I may take you up on it. My msf instructor had one but didn't feel right asking to sit on it. I have been to several Yami dealers since and none have any. I bought a vstar to ride for a year or so but want to check out an FJR so I can order an 07 assuming it fits...(the v-star does not...look a bit like Herman Munster on a bike...)

The Yamaha Shop in Lake Charles still had one FJR on the floor today.

This has nothing to do with an FJR, sorry Just rambling on:

I went to another dealer Saturday to get an FZ6 for my son but they didn't have one like they told me. I drove 55 miles each way, Happy on the way over, Pissed on the way back. Went back to The Yamaha Shop after the holiday and bought the one I first looked at for even less.

Persistence pays off, they still made money and I saved some while supporting a local dealer. Dang it's a good day.
