06 FJR - instantaneous MPG Problems

Greetings all. I’m new to this board and a 4 day old FJR owner.

Took my mike on a nice 200mile drive yesterday and determined that the instantaneous mpg reading was not functioning properly; seems to be stuck at 17mpg.

Has any of the other 06 FJR owners experience this? I’ve seen one other post on it on the FJRowners.com forum.

Does anyone with technical knowledge of this bike have any ideas on what might be wrong?
