Road Jimbo's FJR home from Greenbay Wi......and then took it to Colorado to race around the canyons with my BMW group.....and one FJR friend....in my Ride Report I was asked for my observations......I have 22K on my 05RT, and owned an early FJR.....and have ridden a 07 GT.....20 miles

06 FJR

The heat issue is better but not totally gone....just stays below the knees

It feels like a refined version of my 03

Don't feel like I need 6th gear any longer

At 6'2" I feel a little cramped compared to my RT...but much less cramped than the GT

The motor is still amazing...effortless power

Running down an RT was like takin candy from a baby..

Ran with a 07 GT for 300 miles...I think the FJR is easier to ride fast...he is a very good rider and was fightin it all day while I was very comfy and smooth.....the only time we were gonna go for the land speed record a deer jump right in front of us and we decided it was a sign..... to slow down.

Did a 16 hour day from Gunnison Colorado to Santa Rosa NM....the long way....Silverton, Ouray, Durango,

Albuquerque...felt like I coud've gone more.....

I bought a bigger wind shield...wasn't ready for the trip........but I think I need it..

Corbin seat was good...better than stock but not perfect.......only 5 days to get it was the best part...

Cruise control would have been nice....but I managed.

Never got the knee all the way down....wild blind corners with gravel always seemed to appear evertime I started to feel enough confidence...

The final test won't be for sometime....when my wife jumps on the back for a long trip.....

Any Questions????......Feel free.

Sounds like you and the bike are a good match... welcome (back) to the club... :)

Did you take any pics, Whip? I love that Silverton, Ouray, Durango area.

I notice the "screamin' eagle road clod", I mean road glide, doesn't even merit a mention when talking about riding.
