For those who have had a bike with an OE gear indicator, did your bike also have a neutral indicatiing light? I'm curious because the speedo scale could have been expanded if the neutral light had been omitted.

Maybe it's a DOT requirement to have a neutral light. Maybe the gear indicator display can't show an 'N' -- the display appears to be a basic 7 element unit.

Old BMW "K" bikes had both a green (iirc) neutral light and an "N" in the gear number spot. It was an interesting trouble-shooting procedure to determine what combination of signals gave what indicator. But, they had both light and "N".

It may a DOT reg for a neutral light -- I can't think of any recent bike w/out one.

Owners manual says that gear indicator does not show N and the Green light will be the indicator. I would guess that it will still read 1 on the LCD.
