We have reserved garage parking at work and of course they issue parking stickers annually, each year a new color and new #, yadda, yadda. Welp, they issued us our new ones yesterday, got two, one for the truck and one for the bike. Opened the envelope and of all things, this year they are BLUE!!! Welp, again, you can imagine my dismay, the thought of having to put this THING on the windshield of my 04 silver. God! please!! <_< No choice, the parking police will tow w/out it. So, on it went, reluctantly  Then on to supperclub meeting every Wednesday night (local bike minded group), when we finished, we all got on our bikes to leave, the strangest thing happened  I couldn't keep up, the loss of power was immediate :eh: At the next light, the guys asked, whats wrong? did you loose a cylinder? plug problem?, told them no, I wasnt sure, everything perfect this morning on way to work, only thing I did different was put this blue parking sticker on the windshield. "Ah that explains it" was all that was said, the light changed, they left me, all I could do was limp my wounded *** back home. I know some of you 04 guys can help me out here, what's a poor guy to do, it's so embarrassing :(

Brilliant suggestion TC, this is why I look to you guy's for help! problem is, if I park outside the secured garage, then I am in the hood! Normally I could out run potential associated hazards, but now w/the sticker I just don't think it's possible ;)

It must be the conflict between blue AND silver on the same machine (i.e.-those slow blue and silver paint scheme euro FJR's). Scientific evidence would support the darker the color the faster the machine since the darker colors ABSORB light rays thereby pulling you closer to the light source at the speed of light. Since silver is absent of much color it REFLECTS light rays hence a pushing back at the light source and thus slowing the machine down. Since the 06's are a DARKER blue they therefore will be the fastest FJR's yet produced. Why do you think Honda's new ST1300's are black this year? To try and make them as fast as possible since their mechanical ability is inferior to the FJR speedwise.

I can't wait til March! :D

With you teaching Mechanical Engineering/Physics and Yanktar Political Science, you guys would fit right in here. Applications are in the mail, guaranteed tenure after 20 minutes.

But once you pull the sticker, change plugs, sync the TB's, and maybe reboot the ECM, it should be good as gold again, well, silver anyway, but definitely not feeling so blue anymore. :D

I----I----just dont know, this is just so complicated for simple minded people like me. To actually consider parking my feejer out on a public street, It really might be to my advantage to keep the sticker on and accept the consequences, and continue to park in the garage. If I take it off and park on the street someone's gonna want it, but w/the blue sticker on it, well you get the idea--it's a catch 22, you see my dilemma? I might as well just keep it on and keep my garage space. If I now have to go to all that trouble and time and expense to bring my bike up to spec, I just as well should leave it on and wait till next year, maybe the color next year will be silver and that initself might correct the bad kharma. Anybody got any ideas on what I could use to cover it up? then peel the cover off only while parked at work and re-expose the blue?

Well now this is quite simple to explain. You see, blue is a dominate color to silver. When you placed the tiny blue sticker on your bike, the power of blue took over. Now unfortunately for you, since its such a small patch of blue, your bike seems under powered. If you were to add more blue to your bike, you could regain that lost horsepower, and even gain some. If all your looking to do is regain that lost horsepower, might I suggest getting something else blue on the bike. Perhaps a blue grab rail, or another blue sticker. Don't go with a sticker that is too large, or you might be surprised by the power gains. Keep it simple, and your bike should feel like it did before.

I have to apply CA green stickers on my off road bikes. I cut an appropriatley sized piece of pvc down the middle, to make a groove. The pvc pipe then attaches to the upper fork, e.g. 'snaps' on to it.

The sticker is affixed to the pvc. Truly portable and useable across serveral bikes ;) ....

and the white pvc, being closer to silver, will keep the slug as fast as can be!

Cool concept, x-tra benefit is that everybody will know my baby's married as she will have a wedding ring! ha! and the blue isn't actually touching the bike, hmmm, maybe that just might work :D

It's been three hours since my last prevoking post and not one of you has thrown me an :******:

You fellows are letting me down.

Sorry, bottoms (naught). I haven't had access to a confuser lately to keep you in check...or help balance the nonsense with the whimsical. However, the work computer is back on line so let the nonsense continue.

Maybe it has nothing to do with the bike other than it is a receptor for the preconceived and emotional reactions of the rider. The symbiosis is now exposed because once the bike has experienced blue its seemed inferiority because of its owner's transference of inferiority has caused it to be less powerful.

While the gray bikes look like they're in a fog (in fact, nearly invisible in the fog or mist) it usually takes some sort of emotional trauma to the rider (then transferred to the bike) to elicit the response you have described.

What a shame your bike has developed this neurosis. For God's sake, man, don't let it see a Classic Silver or Repainted Red FJR or serious therapy will be required.
