My Dealer was informed by his Yamaha rep that 06 FJR's would start shipping the first week of April in the order they were placed. Hope mine is here before May?

Count on 2-4 weeks for shipping. It's an awfully slow boat from Japan, then it has to pass customs in port and be delivered to a regional warehouse, then on to your dealer.

The good news is this bike is well worth waiting for, you will not be dissapointed!

IF true...that suxxx! It's way to long to March....and now another month? My order was placed on Sept 28, it sure would be real nice to actually GET my new bike by MARCH as Yamaha was stating last Sept. bulllpuckeeee. Or are-as noted above-they going to be April 1?

Guess it's time to see if my dealer has gotten any word from Yamaha, guess who will be getting a call today...oops, it's the owners day off...pita. Maybe another Honda ST1300 wouldn't be so bad, other than being slower, burning premium and sounding like a teakettle thatzz about ready to let go.....????? DFO

Yamaha has been saying April for several weeks, they just haven't updated their website.

Arriving early April? What date did you get your order entered into the YDS? Mine was October 19 (two weeks after I paid my $500 ... crappy dealer). I'm hoping to get it in April. That would be fine. Have to sell my current machine before the FJR arrives ...

Wow, really looking forward to this riding season.

I was flying a Honolulu trip just the other day and on the way back to DFW, while climbing out, looked down on a container ship pointing at the West Coast of USA and doing about 20 knots. The deck of the boat had the tuning fork logo painted on it. A huge canvas tarp covered the enormous deck well openings...and thru binoculars I would see the words on an enormous yellow rectangular sign.....

FJR's ON BOARD !!!

Have you considered the fact that the '06's are slower than the previous models therefore the increase in shipping time may be directly proportional to the decrease in speed??? :D :D :D

Yeah.... delivered in the order they were placed.... suuuuure they will......

Shipped in the order they were placed, not delivered.

My dealer has a call in to their rep, but they profess no knowledge of any delay and said that nothing is showing on the Yamaha dealer site they have access to(and checked today) ......April fools? DFO <_<

I heard from a 'reliable source' they've been having some trouble getting them shipped over but they're hoping the situation improves.

I would like to know, " If the ship sinks in international waters on the way to deliver my 06, will I loose my down payment".

Getsum :haha:

The PDP term isn't used in Canada. The Early Deposit Form I signed seems to claim delivery by April 15 or earlier.

1. The benefits of this program are subject to payment in full for, and acceptance of delivery of, the 2006 model Yamaha motorcycle indicated above on or before April 15, 2006.

...

4. With the exception of the terms and conditions set out immediately above, this deposit is non-refundable and if the customer chooses not to take delivery of the 2006 model Yamaha motorcycle by April 15, 2006, the customer will forfeit the deposit.

I dunno don't seem to be iron clad legal statements. Probably like the Pirates of the Carribean, "Code? It's more of a guidline really.".

I hope the shipment that TSTAFF is refering to is for the AE model-I believe they where to be be shipped later than the A model. That should put mine right about

March ,where I like it. "A's" for me. Sliick2

Unfortunatly i'm waiting on a "A" model also, My dealer placed the order on September 29th.

Guys-

Patience! The bike will get here when it gets here!

This is the standard wait for the FJR. Almost all of us went through this. After 3 years of ownership, I've forgotten all about the miserable wait, and you will too once you get it.

Sorry but this one is driving me crazy, When i waited for my 03 FJR to arrive i always had the GSXR to take my mind off the wait. My Suzuki went to a new home in October & now i'm spending way to much time thinking about the new one. I'm sure things are only going to be worse after tomorrow when i get to see the 06 in person @ the Cleveland bike show.
