I find the 06A throttle much too hard. The bike has lots of power, so this may be a design and it's fine in around town, but on hiways it's unnecessary.

How do I lighten up the springs? Replace them and that's it?

What are the side effects in terms of safety?

Look under technical discussions-- throttle spring adjustment. Pictures and text.

I just did it on my '06 today... not a problem to do-- simple tools and a simple mind, just lift the spring high enough (3/4 inch) to clear the bar so it will spin around.
