Just wanted to share for those in the market. The s.o. just got an 07 V6 RAV4. Very nice ride. The V6 in that baby has plenty of punch and it is a blast to drive. Excellent fit and finish. For those in the market for a practical small SUV that get's good gas milage, I would recommend taking a look at one of these (V6 model).

It's TOO big! It was fine until they made it BIG and put a BIG, low milage engine in it. I'll keep my 04 thank you.

Ummmmm...O.K. But I wasn't trying to give it to you. Too big for you perhaps, but perfect for our needs. Our other ride is an 04 V8 4Runner, so in comparrison it is much smaller. Hope you continue to enjoy your 04, it too is a great vehicle, but the V6 option on the 07 also allows us to tow our fishing boat. It will also smoke your 04. ;)

That's not bad for a V6 suv. It's better than my Jeep on it's best day.

We had seriously looked at the RAV4, but found it too small! We really needed an 8 place vehicle. So, we found the Honda Pilot to be the best of both worlds...Not too big and not to small. The real set back is its LOUSY gas mileage (17-21MPG).

Thanks for the review.

I got my so a 07 Rav4 also just two weeks ago, broke it in going to Bonneville this week to the BUB speed week. Ran 80+ all the way and got 28 MPH. Wife hit 110 when I took a power nap going across Nevada on Hwy 80 (I checked top speed on the Zumo). Got the Limited with the whistles and bells looks like this will be a keeper.

Bill in STockton.

I agree. The RAV4 is a great little vehicle. I don't own one yet but it will be my next car. The v-6 is much stronger than the 4cyl and the mileage penalty is negligible. Kind of reminds me of my FJR....lots of power but excellent mileage. I rarely get below 50 MPG.
