I've always had a soft spot for the V-max, even tho I've never owned one. The '07 got a little style change, and I think I'm liking it, but not so much the radiator/ mud flap behind the front tire.

Is that a FOR REAL production bike of the V-Max?

Man that is a MEAN looking machine! I too have ALWAYS loved Mad Max but never owned one. Thanks for the pics.

Very modern. If that is the production model, yamaha really went out on a limb with this one. If they changed the exhaust and those weird silver air intakes it would do a lot for that bike, but I think they were trying to push the envelope on this one.

Without those rocket launchers on the sides of the tank and that piece behind the front wheel that looks like an extension to the radiator, I would like it very much. The black fork tubes are especially cool looking.

Hey people lets not forget....one person's nightmare is another person's dream....(no comment on it being fugly) ....

"Hole me! Nail me! I'm easy but not cheap!"
Man, does that ever remind me of some girlfriends from the past! :D

BTW, what is the frame painted with? It kinda looks like bedliner, but I can't really tell.

The current tease from Yamaha. Being that I'm a current Vmax owner and have been following the "new Max" for some time, what you see in those pics is still a fairy-tale at this point. The scoops (ake: Rocket Launchers) are supposed to finally be functional rather then ornimental like they have been for the last 20 years. The motor is all redesigned and rumored to be able to produce around 180hp or a tad more. Further rumors state that it will be limited to 150hp. It should also be fuel injected rather then carburated.

The bike in the pics is unfortunatly a hollow model. The frame and such are all real, but the motor was nothing more then a shell. Yamaha has been taunting the Vmax community with a new max for the last 6 or so years and so far hasn't come up with the goods, but this past year is the first time they actually showed us anything aside from drawings.

I will admit that the lower Rad needs to go. I love the analogy that was posted, it's so accurate it's funny. I also don't care for the pipes too much but to each his own, I'm sure there would be aftermarket pipes in no time. Current rumor mill also has stated that since Suzuki is releasing the B-King in September that Mamma Yamaha might actually get thier collective ***** in gear and produce the beast in the pics. How much will hold true to whats in the pics is anyones guess. Unfortunatly for me, by the time that thing makes it to sales floors, I should be getting cozey with an 07' FJR.

I know that I will want to add a Vmax back to the stable some day. It's a great bike and a whole lot of fun. Hopefully, I'll have two models to consider when I'm ready again.

Limited to 150 HP? WTF!!! The V-Max is supposed to be bad ass, not a chained dog. My '98 max was over 150 HP with the mods I had on it, so why pay all the money for a new one. Course I like my FJR better, it is easier to do 500 mile plus days on.

I think the limitation is just a formality if there is even truely a limit. It's all speculation and rumors at this point. However, if it's limited and fuel injected, then it won't be long before there is a PCIII out for it to release the hounds.
