Hi everyone, Just a quick intro and want to show off my new bike. The weather has been so nice past couple of days and I've been getting a few heat cycles and familiarization rides around my county here in North Ga.

I was looking at VFR's but went with the FJR because of the extra hp and interstate ability. I was pleasantly surprised with the underseat storage (holds all of my tire repair stuff, manual and stuff) and how easily and well the seat fits. Fit and finish is excellent and another big draw for me was the oil change, battery access, and filter access is super easy and that takes care of 90% of my maintenance chores.

I'm riding without the bags for now as my tankbag holds a good bit and the bike looks great with or without them. Power is impressive and I am a jaded hp nut with tons of experience on GT's and litre bikes as well as numerous sport touring rigs.

Thanks in advance for helping me to tweak this bad boy to my liking. Doesnt need much, but I usually put a corbin on my bikes (like the firmness and the cup).

Here she is with about 25 miles on the clock !! Later, bill

Very Nice bike, man.

As to riding without the bags, to me the FJR looks odd with that big hole over the rear wheel. I think if you could bolt some high-mount pipes on it would look a world better, but then there would be problems getting the bags on when you want them. Me? I just leave my bags on full time, whether they are empty of full. I can always use one to jam my helmet in there when I stop for coffee, or whatever...

YBMV...

Welcome to the forum and the FJR! Bike looks great! Where are you located in N GA?

I'm just north of Rome in Haywood Valley, near Summerville. Great riding..I can get to Dalton from here in 30 minutes of scenic riding, then on to Fort Mtn. and access the the really good stuff.

That's looking good. What size is that "Super" Cortech tankbag??? I've got an 18L coming

but I want to get a second, smaller, "around-town" version and that one looks about right.

I saw my first 08' this morning on the showroom floor. I laughed when I saw it cause

we had a thread on this site about keeping black looking clean. This bike at the dealer

had finger print smudges all over it. MY WIFE brought it to my attention as soon as she

walked up to the bike. I like the black color and the dark instrument bezels myself.

BTW...it was sitting right next to a black ST1300. Made me very happy that I got the FJR

and not the Honda.

I'm in Cleveland,GA and plan to ride Ellijay, Blue Ridge, Tellico, etc often. Look forward to meeting up and riding with you soon. Congrats. Love the Black.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Hope to see all of you soon. First day of spring within a week now.. Tbird, I cant find an info on that tankbag. Its a cortech and is not too big. I like the way it fit on my other bike better..I sold this 08 Busa after only a few months and 3000 miles..believe it or not, one reason for selling it is that it took so long to get the bodywork off for service, the other reason is that it eats tires and was also going to land me in jail eventually. Just stoooopid fast.

I always sell these things after a close call, then miss it so much that I'll get another. If I get another it will be another ZX14. I'm very impulsive, and never having been married or having kids, I am able to play a lot.

Hey kiteman11.. I have a friend from Cleveland that hangglides with me. Mike Eberhardt (a doctor and son of the once only doctor in Cleveland). We used to fly off of Mt. Yonah but now stick to flying the better sites in and around Chattanooga.

Let me know when you get ready to go to Tellico. That is one of my alltime favorite destinations. I'm not too wild about Deals Gap (nice place to spend about 15 minutes once in a while) but the Cherohala is fantastic !!

Welcome to the board. I'm almost in your neck of the woods, just down in Cartersville right where 411 connects to us41. So Rome is only a short 25 mile ride for me. LMK if you ever want to meet up some time. Mr. Twisty and Jwilly are also in the NW Ga area.

Welcome to the addiction.

As they say, "every ride a gift" and it has never been truer than when you are on a FJR.

Had mine for almost two full months now, smile everytime I get on her.
