FJR riders have always been big supporters of "Bite The Wieeenie"! And this year, FJR riders won the top three finish positions in the premiere 2013 Iron Butt Rally. 5 of the top 10 finishers rode FJRs. What more can be said of this incredible riding platform.

The 2013 Long Distance riding season is coming to a chilly close. And goodness, out here in So Cal some of us are even crankin’ up our heated gear in these low 60 degree F evenings with a wind chill of 30. (at least that’s what it feels like.)

"Bite the Wieeenie" Ride-To-Eat at Pink’s Hot Dogs, 10 PM in Los Angeles, Saturday, Nov 16, 2013.

To shake things up this year we will have a “GUEST HOST” of unknown repute! Mark Crane, Iron Butt Rally finisher from the Bay Area will meet, greet and document your attendance by getting you all to sign-in. He claims he knows what he’s doing but …

Bite the Wieeenie is not a membership based event. It's main attendees are long distance riders ... from Canada, western US and every year, a couple of riders from the east coast! It is open to riders of all idiosyncrasies.

Pink's is a honest-to-goodness Hollywood icon, sub-cultural gathering spot and past IBR bonus location. The establishment doesn't know we are coming nor do they care. Whether you're a twerking Mike Kneebone, a wrecking ball rider Lisa Landry, Kim, Khloe, Kourtney or Elvis, everyone waits in line. And the 1-hour+ wait at midnight for a $3.45 chili dog is a unique Hollywood experience.

Jacked up pickups, bouncing lowriders, Porsches, pimpmobiles, and junkers and LD motorcycle rigs all share a miniscule parking lot while stretch limos and Hummers circle the block while their contents wait in the 1-hour+ line.

Besides us LDRiders with ATGATT, it would not be unusual to see unique body piercing, facial tattoos, the best body modifications that money can buy, spikes and dreadlocks, prom dresses, grunge street wear and barefoot surfers standing in line.

HOT DOG MENU

If you're into hot dogs . . . check this amazing menu out.

https://www.pinkshollywood.com/pgz/menu.htm

The top-of-the-line gastrointestinal bomb is the legendary "THREE DOG NIGHT" -- 3 hot dogs, wrapped in a giant tortilla, 3 slices of cheese, 3 slices of bacon, chili & onions all for … $7.95!!!!!!!!

Wrong time of year but the weather is still holding off. Have to check the long range and see if there is a window. Gotta check the dollars stash also. Maybe.

my shortest route would take me down 97, I would assume there'd likely be snow through Oregon to Grants Pass. It's 1100 miles down 97 and 1250 if I were to go to Portland then south on 5. Like you I'd love to figure a way to do this.

Slight issue.... Seems I forgot to coordinate with my Social Coordinator. When I told her what I was doing Saturday she reminded me we have dinner with friends that evening. Hopefully this won't last too late.

Maybe I should get a note form my doctor. ;)

Since all the pharmaceutical advertisements say "Ask your doctor if 'xxx' is right for you", maybe your doctor will prescribe an emergency dose of Midnight Wieeenies? And, as it turns out, the only compounding pharmacy that can fill the prescription is located at 709 N. La Brea Ave. in Lost Angeles.

Since they are the only place serving Medicinal Hot Dogs, they are very, very busy - and parking is limited. Better take the motorcycle to assure that you get a place in line with all of the other 'sick' people...I mean... Patients.

"Paging Doctor Nathan..."

Excellent - thanks for the link!

Looks like 5->405->605->5 will get us OC/SD folks around it pretty easily.

Click on the "view all" for photos.

There were about 48-50 bikes & riders, the weather was great, and it was good seeing so many fellow riders.

The FJR was well-represented (about 10 bikes) and George (Escapefjrtist) was among those who logged a SS1000 on the way in. Way to go!
