2-Up For 2009

Hope I don’t seem too anxious here and I’m not trying to influence the location of EOM 2009, but if it's Lewisburg (which by the way is just fine with Lorie and me) then here's where Lorie I might ride on Saturday (and another route for consideration):

Lewisburg WV to Lexington VA: Rt 60//74 Miles//1+20 (hours/minutes)

Lexington VA to Goshen VA: Rt 39//22/0+30

Goshen VA to Monterey VA : Rt 39 to 678 to 250//49/1+00

Lunch at the Monterey Inn ~ 1130

Monterey VA to Warm Springs VA: Rt 220//31/0+38

Warm Springs VA to Marlinton WV: Rt 39//30/0+40

Marlinton WV to Lewisburg WV: Rt 219//42/0+51

248 Miles and 5 hours. Should get back to Lewisburg ~1530 with a 0830 departure.

This route is also easily extended, or if needed, shortened. I originally went from Monterey VA to Franklin WV up Rt 220 and then west across that wonderful Rt 33 to Elkins WV and down 219 to Lewisburg. That came out to be around 333 miles and 6.5 hours. Only 362 days to wait!

If you're going through Warm Springs, I suggest including a one-hour stop at the Jefferson Pools to "take the waters." Last time I was there (Oct 07) it was $15 per person for an hour, which included towels. It got 5-stars from Ann!

That looks like a fine route you got planned there.

Not sure if I can wait that long though. I may have to test ride it before winter gets here.

I'd like to put it all together in one day too! I've ridden some of those roads but not all. 33 really is a great road going thru the mountains.
