Here we go again. Lowering my price.

Asking $3000
Second owner
Valve guides replaced under factory warranty.
47k
Fresh oil and filter change as of 6/17/24
Recent front/rear tires install
Radiator screen/guard
Recent front and rear brake rotors and pads install
PAIR system removed.
Spencer front seat mod.
Fiamme Hi/Lo horn install.
Ohlins rear shock
Fork springs swapped out for 2004 springs
Fork brace
Shorai Lithium battery.
Heli Bar risers. 1"back, 3/4" up.
LED front turn signals
LED Headlight bulbs
Garauld hydration system
Stainless brake lines front and rear
Cee Bailey windscreen
Steering nut mount for Garmin Zumo
Complete drive line and u-joint refresh when rear tire was installed
Bagster tank cover and tank bag
I mounted auxillary plugs on the left side (where the 2004 glove box would be) in anticipation of an Eastern Beaver PC8 install.

The bike has had two tip overs at zero MPH. One on the right side by previous owner, one by me on the left side, resulting in some paint scratching. I have a complete set of NOS 2003 Yamaha color matched right and left lower fairing parts as well as a new clutch cover still in the box. $500 value.
Accessory heated grips with all wiring included. Not currently installed. Parts saved in a box. I install the Suzuki (I think it is) handguards in winter to keep my hands out of the wind. These are included.
Brakeaway throttle lock.
Comes with factory side cases with liners and a factory top box. All color matched. Top box has never been used.

The currently installed tail piece is a spare to accomodate the givi rack. Didn't want to drill a hole in the stock tail piece. The stock unmolested tail piece is included. Right now the rear rack has the factory top case adapter installed.
RKA soft top case included.

Boxes and boxes of spare parts accumulated over almost ten years of ownership, including a euro headlight assembly and wiring harness, spare fasteners, drain plug crush washers, original turn signals, etc etc etc.

Boat load of paper work and maintenance records since new.

Please contact me with any questions. More photos on request

Jay is a stand up guy who really loves this thing. I've chatted with him quite a bit recently and I know he wouldn't be selling unless he had to. He really takes care of things. I purchased some Delkevic headers from him and every part was hand wrapped to prevent damage and then additional packing between parts and the box to make sure nothing moved around. I would not hesitate buying from him again. (I would buy this too if I hadn't just dragged home a basket case KLR650)

GLWS Jay.

Hello all,
With great sadness I must sell my Gen 1. Rode it yesterday, and of course wondered why I would sell it, but due to spine issues that are getting worse, this bike is just too darn heavy for me to move around, and I can barely get it on the center stand. I don't plan on stopping riding, but the reality is I need a lighter motorcycle. The sale of my FJR will go towards another bike. I've been lucky to have three motos, so the FJR was mainly used as a distance machine, thus the low miles for a 2003
Briefly, for now:
Asking $3900.
Second owner
The engine was one of the tickers, and the original owner did the factory recall with the valve guides replaced. He gave me the old parts and they go with the bike.
47k
Fresh oil and filter change as of 6/17/24
Recent front/rear tires install
Radiator screen/guard
Recent front and rear brake rotors and pads install
PAIR system removed.
Spencer front seat mod. Best thing I could have done to the bike. The stock seat was painful. With the Spencer seat I can ride for hours no problem.
Fiamme Hi/Lo horn install. Stock horn is almost worthless. Although I will have to say I rarely use the horn. Reflexes have gotten me out of oh s*** moments and honking the horn has been the last thing I think about. But when I use the horns it commands attention. They are loud!
Ohlins rear shock
Fork springs swapped out for 2004 springs
Fork brace
Shorai Lithium battery. Same battery in the bike for almost 10 years now. Still holds 13+amps.
Heli Bar risers. 1"back, 3/4" up.
LED front turn signals
LED Headlight bulbs
Garauld hydration system
Stainless brake lines front and rear
Cee Bailey windscreen
Steering nut mount for Garmin Zumo
Complete drive line and u-joint refresh when rear tire was installed
Bagster tank cover and tank bag
I mounted auxillary plugs on the left side (where the 2004 glove box would be) in anticipation of an Eastern Beaver PC8 install.
Kinda crude but functional rear fender flap
The bike has had two tip overs at zero MPH. One on the right side by previous owner, one by me on the left side, resulting in some paint scratching. I was bumped from behind at a stop sign which knocked the bike out from under me, resulting in more minor scraping on left side. Insurance company paid for all new replacement parts which I have not installed yet. Still in the box though, and still pristine.
Original owner had installed accessory heated grips but I removed them. Too much messy wiring. Saved all parts in a box in case someone wants to re-install. As a substitute I install the Suzuki (I think it is) handguards in winter to keep my hands out of the wind.
Brakeaway throttle lock. Best design of all the different throttle locks I have tried. In my opinion anyway.
Comes with factory side cases with liners and a factory top box. All color matched. Top box has never been installed or used.
The tail piece is a spare to accomodate the givi rack. Didn't want to drill a hole in the stock tail piece. The stock unmolested tail piece is included. Right now the rear rack has the factory top case adapter installed in case I wanted to use the top case. The RKA tail bag is NOT included.

Boxes and boxes of spare parts accumulated over almost ten years of ownership, including a euro headlight assembly and wiring harness, spare fasteners, drain plug crush washers, etc etc etc.

Boat load of paper work and maintenance records since new. Original owner was meticulous, and I have been as well.

There is more that I will add when I recall. This is a spontaneous posting. I can't procrastinate anymore. I love this motorcycle but I have to let it go. It is a comfortable, reliable, fast as heck motorcycle and the most dependable moto I've ever owned. I've done all the necessary maintenance work required.

I'll attach one photo along with a flickr link to more photos. Please contact me privately with any questions.

Bump again with another lower price.

$3200.

I'm genuinely curious why no interest. Too old? Too many miles? Not a perfect beauty queen? I've had no response from my local C.L. as well. Puzzling. Such a great bike!

It seems that most people use FaceBook marketplace these days, at least around here. If you are on FB, I would list it there.
I wasn't even looking when I found my bike. I was looking for quartz countertops for a customer, and the the ad for my FJR was on the homepage for the marketplace. A few days later it was in my garage. I had an FJ 1100 in the late 80's and alway coveted an FJR when they came out, seeing the ad was all it took to spur me on. It's worth a try if you have access to FB.

Still curious though, if anyone can respond, is my price too high? Too low? Too many miles? Not a beauty queen?

Too high? Well, it is a 21 year old motorcycle. Those who don't know about how great the Gen1 FJR's really are, even with all the farkles and updates, may pass due to its age. You price ($3200) seems fair considering the upgraded suspension, stainless brake lines, etc.

How much for the factory side cases with liners and a factory top box.
I realize your not parting this out. Just figured I'd ask since there's a current post with somebody looking for those.
I'd want $400.00 for mine. (Side cases only) Blue, with locks and a key included. No top box. Well, for sale anyway. That's what makes this torque monster so cool to ride to the store. Please feel free to shoot me a PM. That goes out to you too, Norcal Rider. I'd like to email you some ad suggestions.

With all the extras & upgrades... Man, If you didn't live across the country, for a second one, I'd be about it!

Wow, I live in San Diego area of So Cali. If I hadn't bought my 2015ES I'd be all over this bike at this price. My '15 had 58k and that didn't bother me one bit. My guess is that a current or past FJR owner will make the purchase.
Good luck.

A few things: I think the market is slow right now. Your FJR is old. Mileage..... meh. Not high for the year, but look what you are competing against. Plenty '04/'05 FJRs out there with less than 40k, 30k miles.

At new price of $3,200. Not a bad deal. I think that should attract some attention. Want to sell it quickly, lower the price. Unfortunately, that is just the way it is.

Sorry I can’t figure out how to DM you but if you’re selling those blue side cases I’m interested 🍻

The ad doesn't read like he's parting it out. Did you click on the author's icon and then click "start conversation"? If so, now you can wonder if he got it or not? There's still edit concerns. Especially if you've been known to be a smart *** (Different sale). But that is a couple hundred bucks worth of tank bag and cover your looking at here. Too bad the pics also have it looking like a seat cover you can't see under.
Norcal, I'm going to be sending you a PM too. Don't get nervous Mack. My PM is about paying an agreed price in cash for all of it. Then running the bike up the Left coast (no comment) to see my ex police officer brother in Oregon. Before heading back to Houston TX with all of it. Provided Norcal has a semi safe place I can leave my truck parked at. PS. I think l might be the only one here with blue side cases Mack? But they are for sale separately. Especially if your on the way.

Thanks for your comments. I do say best reasonable offer in my for sale post.
