I can get into diagnostic mode on my 05. The number to the right of d1:01 will change when I push either the select or reset buttons. There is also a smaller number (font size) at the lower right of the screen. Which set of numbers are the diagnostic trouble code? What is the difference between the larger and smaller numbers?

I have the factory manual but it is no help as it does not explain which set of numbers are codes.

When I get to 70 (larger number) I have a 0 at the lower right--I understand that this means that I have no history codes stored in the ECU.

How do I get into the "test the actuators" mode and cycle through the tests? Are values displayed for the actuators. I have seen the TPS numbers change from 15 to 97 but what about the other tests??

Does one set of numbers (larger at top, or smaller at lower right) display values for whatever is being tested?

I'm sure it's me--and yes I do feel like an *****.

I'm guessing that ionbeam will be along to answer this off the top of his head any minute now.

I'd been a while since I even looked at my diAg screens, so I'm not quite visualizing what exactly you are talking about right now.

But, if nobody else answers by tomorrow morning I'll go down to the garage then and put mine through its paces and see if I can (refresh my weak memory and) provide an answer for you.

Try reading this and see if it helps. Look at the heading of the columns and note the text, there are Fault codes and Diagnostic Codes. Fault Codes tell you what error has been detected, Diagnostic Codes let you read and actuate systems.
