The 2006 is back on the website. They show gear indicator, Heat sheilding and venting a 12 volt outlet, more adjustment on windscreen. ABS standard and more info to come SEPT 28 Also it is the faster blue color.

I guess yamaha does listen to this forum?

I copied the picture of the new fjr and enlarged it to get a better look. Looks like that silver piece between the seat and tank is a wrap around heat shield of sorts.

Having that lower front engine mount visible like it is looks like a great place to put sliders without having to cut anything.

Passenger pegs look to be lower and further forward. Acually the tail section looks a little longer when compared to the side view on my 03 brocure.

It will be intersting to see how many "improvements" can be retrofitted.

Will the windshield mod extension work on earlier models?

The blue color is different for 2006, called Cobalt Blue instead of Galaxy Blue, it looks a bit darker in the photos. Lots of changes there that seem like they might be nice. Not sure I can deal with ABS though, and it looks like non-ABS is no longer available. I know many out there like ABS, I ain't knockin' ya. It just ain't for me.

I stopped into my favorite dealer in Connecticut (Columbia Motorsports, LLC - Scott Anthony (860) 228-1900) and he spoke to his Yamaha rep while I was there and said that there are to be two versions of the FJR for 2006. He said that both will be introduced on Sept. 28th at 0900PDT...1200EDT. A "tricked out" version may include an electronic speed control and 6th gear and another model, possible as Yamaha is calling the 1300A? Everyone should call their dealer and find out more. Let's have a conference call at 1200EDT on the 28th.... saw this on the other site
