Since there seems to be 2006 FJRs delivered in other countries besides the USA, I was wondering if any foreign press mags have done a "first ride" or comparison of the NEW FJR?

Anybody know of any? I haven't seen any listed here or on other FJR/Yamaha sites.

Thanx. Still waiting for my 2006 supposed to arrive sometime next month... I hope.

I searched thru the rack at Barnes + Noble again today looking at all the new UK bike mags...nothing that I saw on any cover about the FJR. Kinda like Yamaha's "delivery"...a big goose egg. Only review that I'm aware of is some comments on the "other" FJR forum @ some French mag's review. DFO <_<

Thanx, Highlander. The translation brought a smile to my waiter face. Glad the reviewer liked the new FJR so much. I am surprised that there are so few test rides or reviews of the FJR world wide. Yamaha must not be promoting the bike much. <_<

Here's the latest from the owners board, post by a guy from OZ...

Quote " did 440km on my new 06 last sunday-a mix of suburbs and country. at a glance: gearbox-very stiff upchanging but strangely smooth changing down-hope it improves a lot!! throttle-bloody heavy when at a steady cruise but not a problem when rolling on. screen-very good protection though rattles a bit when fully lowered. heat-it was a moderate summers day, probably around 25 celcius-could feel the heat on my calves, left leg more. easy enough to get onto centestand but care needed when rolling off with tank full-im only medium-sized 5"10". i left seat on lowest position of two as delivered-looks like a bit of a hassell to change. performance-of course its tight but i think the smoothness and quietness dampens some of the exhiliration i felt on my last bike-2000 bandit 1200. the 06 has higher gearing but itr still pulls cleanly from 1500rpm. 2000=60kmh 3000=80kmh 4000=125kmh. instruments are easily read-one gripe (never thought id complain about this) : turn-signal idiot-lights are too small and not bright enough. oh yeah yamaha said they adressed the heavy throttle issue on the 06-guess mine must have slipped thru. one more thing-anyone put nitrogen into their tyres? is it worthwhile? ride safe "
