I was about to order a set of sliders for my '08, but in the description saw the statement:
Yamaha FJR1300 Frame Sliders and Accessories 2006-2007

Will not fit the 2008 bikes.

I really don't see why this would be the case. Think this is a mistake or typo in the listing?

The only way they wouldn't fit is if Yamaha changed the plastic or the frame on the 08 -

Anyone seen an 08 up close?

I saw it but really didn't look closely at the mount point area. I'll search around here and see if there are any good side pictures.

Ran across these:

this last pic is from the yamaha site, so inherently suspect of photochopping:

looks about the same to me...

Looks identical to my '07, too.

Either Yamaha changed something not seen in the photos (like the bolt diameter?) or Motovation is being extra cautious.

Tejas - Looking at these photos, and looking at my '06, it appears that the opening in middle of the fairing has been widened slightly on the '08. My righthand slider was trimmed down about 1/8" in o.d., near the base, to help clear the closeness of the fairing. Yours will probably not need to be trimmed down, but can be full diameter all the way down to the base. Phil

Thanks for the feedback. I'm guessing Motovation is being extra cautious. I'd rather take the chance and order them so I can get them on the bike as soon after delivery as possible and deal with returning them if I have to afterwards.

I am guessing, that until they personally verify that it fits the 08, they are saying "Does not fit the 08". Just good business.

The plastic looks the same to me as my 06
