I fell in love with the VFR, and I don't know why. Something about the way it looks and how small it feels compared to the Feej.

I will be very interested to see what they actually decide on for 2008, but all I have to say is the bike does this to me.

V-5 1000 with a Buell style exhaust. Chain drive.

That is very, very interesting......

If it keeps the good looks of the VFR, but with an underslung exhaust, it should be dead sexy.

Maybe they will bump up the valve adjustment interval too.

from 781cc to 1000cc should be a pretty damn significant jump in hp and accelleration. Wonder if the suspension will be stiffer as well.

Wow....

That may be the best looking white motorcycle I've ever seen.

Never, EVER been keen on white motorcycles, but that's as purdy as a speckled pup!

Puh-leeze, the VFR rests in peace. Honda is intent on building refined, airbag equipped scooters. Oh, and way cool lawn mowers and generators, they build those, too. I've about given up all hope for their motorcycle line.

I dunno, Davey. If they use the V5, relax the ergos, and include integrated hard bags it might be worth a look.

The VFR is dead or getting a marginal generational update (at best).

I'll stick to my stripped down Old Yeller. B)

I hate to be THE ****, but "when pigs fly".

Every year around this time, MCN turns into The National Enquirer and starts posting crap with photoshopped pics.

Does anyone see an indication that the patented frame design WILL be used in the 2008? Does anyone see that the design WILL be used at all? Does anyone here actually understand the patent process and the lack of direct application to a specific product?

All that's shown is the possibility of a definate maybe that MIGHT apply to the chance of producing a motorcycle with a frame similar to that described in the patent.

Or making sure nobody else does it and ending up having to pay THEM royalties.

As some of you probably already know, the 2008 VFR gets BNGs...meaning Grey.

I expect nothing less from Honda..... how sad this once mighty giant in the motorcycle industry has so totally strayed away from its performance-oriented customer base.

*sigh* The XX is now well over a decade old with no serious redesign/upgrades since 1999. I never, ever thought I would consider replacement with a Suzuki, but anymore, Honda just won't allow their testicles to descend, so.....

While I ain't groovin' on the color (or the looks, quite frankly), the bike itself seems almighty interesting....

While I don't think any of us will know the reasons behind Big H's decision-making for America, I do agree with your, ahh, assessment. Maybe they know their (bread & butter) market? Cruzers sell.... Also, they shy at our litigousness. Once at a World Superbike event I asked a Honda rep why we don't get bikes called "Fireblade" and "Firestorm" -- "Too suggestive", he said; their legal counsel recco'd against the names; just use alpha-numeric......

If that's all it takes? If that's the "company-think"? Can we really expect any 'red-blooded' m/cs? I think not......
