2009 FJR1300AE Review @ TopSpeed

Out on the freeway, I saw the speedometer’s needle up to as much as 150mph and the road behavior was absolutely spotless. This completed the unique experience encountered on the FJR1300 and put a big smile on my face.
Can't wait to be able to get that smile.

Soon.

I haven't been above 75-80 on mine, but it brings a smile every time I smack 60mph in just first gear :) definitely a winner in my book ('11 A)

You'll like the FJR and you have many good roads nearby to enjoy its agility. 150 MPH is not trivial, and my experience in that realm is in the desert around Death Valley with endless visibility, no traffic and perfect conditions. Nice review, if a bit dated. Of course they missed the point that in spite of the march of time, no one has improved on the 05ABS.

All things going well, I expect to have my new (to me) FJR next week. Praying for good riding weekend following that.

i cant join the freeway and get to the carpool lane somedays without getting up above that - mind you the fjr makes that way too easy

Interesting post. Mine has been to 130 tops as roads didn't allow faster speeds. Solid as a rock and on an open road I would have been comfortable going faster. It's a well designed bike.

Man, you boys gotta come ride the Southwest. 75-80 is slow enough to get you runned over by a SmartCar. I love my throttle!!
Yes but I hear the cops in New Mexico are mean as hell. Just let one catch you speeding on a motorcycle.
Zilla has a "get out of a ticket Free card" (for the most part)

I've seen 150 on the 2008.

Sadly, no I don't. I just try to ride smart and work very hard not to do stupid stuff that's gonna get me popped.

Let me try this again.

What I meant to say was that the one New Mexico police officer I know is mean. He lives in Albuquerque and rides an FJR when he is not writing tickets and committing police brutality.
