I am still planning to attend this meet.

I'd like to attend. My daughter is graduating on Sunday the 7th so if I do, I'd plan to be back home on Saturday evening. I'm thinking about heading to Columbus on Thursday to visit with some friends and ride out to Logan on Friday morning for b-fast. However, I'm not sure as I don't want to overdo it - this may be too much riding in one day - is that possible  .

If I go, would anyone be interested in splitting a room on Friday night?

I am new hear and appologize if I am posting up too soon. Thought I would throw some locals eating establishments that you might want to consider as you meander around the Hocking Hills. I doubt that I will be able to make it, the first weekend of the month is crazy for me.

All-

Sorry for the lazy posting, been a bit crazy lately. Thanks for all the good suggestions for lunch. Normally I either pack a lunch or if in the Hocking Hills area Jimbo's is a must for the burgers.

Babou...welcome to the collective. U coming?

Don't forget to make your reservations for the motel!!! I say that as I haven't called back in the do it myself!! But I'm planning to stay Fri and Sat. too. Looking forward to seeing you Heidi and Greg and meeting everyone else. Again if you want a roommate, post up and you'll probably find one.

Thanks for who has sent me your cell number. And a friendly reminder if you want me to have it, pm me.

Ohh, before I forget, I'm weaving up the second day's route now. It will be the more twisty of the two days me thinks. :yahoo: :yahoo: Suggestions for route alterations of what's posted in the FIRST THREAD are welcome. But I figured it was a good mix of scenery, rollercoasters, sweepers and twistys and easy-ish to navigate for Friday. Also thought it was worth it reach 536,800 and 26 and do the more southern roads on Saturday.

Fellow riders, I am afraid that I'll need to cancel my plans for making this ride. It has to do with vacation time here at work.

Hoping for fun days together in the future.

Have loads of fun... & will definitely miss seeing and riding with some old friends, Heidi

Heidi! No! Sorry you can't make it! I totally understand the vacation time-money continuum issue. You coming to Johnson City? My wife and I may be there (her on an 06 VFR) :)

All- Very sorry for the lack of posting the second days' route yet. No worries, it's brewing in the couldron as we speak! :yahoo:

Reminder: Last day to call in for a Group Rate is good until May 24.

Other stuff that a ride leader just has to say: This is not a race/rally. Let's take safety first and keep stupidity to a minimum (on the bikes that is, after hours all bets are off :) ) I'm not saying don't have fun..the contrary. I'm saying don't make dangerous passes, do space yourself out in the twisties, do respect your other riders space, look out for one another, and do not feel as if you have to keep up with the pack. If you are a really fast rider...just pass everyone and run as hard as you want! That's totally fine, just hooliganize once you're clear of the pack. After a few miles the running order will be in place and you'll probably find yourself near other riders with similar skills. And I'll try to stop and wait for folks to catchup at turns, but do print my routes and bring a map in case you are minutes behind. It's tough to know everyone is there with a pack.

The reason I'm saying this is group riding mentality sometimes leads to problems. Over the course of the rambles since 04, 3 people have crashed with thankfully only bikes suffuring injuries. Crashing in groups happens all the time. There will be challenging sections of roads with potential gravel, off camber curves with uphill/downhills combined, rural/farm traffic, and views to distract from riding. Let's do our best to make it back in one piece AND have a blast in the process. I know you guys feel the same way, so...just gettin' it out there.

P.S. Check back in a few days for the route updates on post 1.

Oh, and thanks to those who IM'd me with cell #'s

Mike, I expect to be at EOM. I already have a roomy & reservation, too.

I'll miss you guys. Be careful & have fun, Heidi

All- I spoke to the hotel today to inquire if we need more space.

There is only 1 reservation at Baymont besides myself. Should we reschedule this ride for another time? Not much of a ramble with 2 overnight guests and a few folks coming in for a day...just checkin...it's a lot of work to organize if only a few foks show up.

I am registered at the hotel, so it's just you and me so far. Maybe others didn't use the secret code when they reserved?

Oops, I just called and checked my reservation. I was not listed as part of the group. :blushing:

Fixed it.

You need to add RT255 from Sardis to RT800.........hands down 100% the BEST road in Ohio IMO. I ride in that area all of the time including just last weekend.
