So I'm to riding today and stopped for a 5 minute break. Started riding again and about less than a quarter of mile the check engine light starts blinking and eventually the engine stops. Kill switch was not hit. Let it sit for a few minutes and, luckily, it started again and I got home. Seems to be ok now. Anyone out there have this happen? Very strange.

Ignition switch not fully in the "on" position? Funny things can happen if the switch is making intermittent contact.

Any other strange happenings? High beam light stay on? Both flashers on? Headlight off? There are several "spiders" on the FJR where several ground wires come together and just one goes back to the battery, and if they get a little corrosion in there funny things happen. Even if this isn't your problem, as an FJR owner you should spend an hour googling FJR1300 Spider, and get familiar with the problem and the symptoms. Not everyone experiences a spider bite, but a bunch have. Good luck.

Thanks...I'm guessing that's what it was.

No other strange happenings, but I will look up the spiders...thanks.

Not saying it isn't possible but there are very few "spider" issues after 2008. Certainly a lot fewer than earlier GenII.

Stored fault codes?

Something like this happened to me exactly once, a few months after I got the bike. This was almost 5 years ago. Never figured it out.

Jogged my memory here !!

Happened to me also when I was on the road and a couple thousand K from home. Tried to re-start quite a few times, quit doing that and let it sit.

.

.

10 minutes later it started - never happened again.
