What is it with bike manufacturers and their infatuation with Europe..?? Can't we get some variety in this country? If this bike was available in the US (particularly the cafe concept), I'd have one in my garage. No question!

Man, I'd punt my SV-650 in a HEARTBEAT for that CB1100 Standard... Finally, Honda is making pretty bikes again.

My wife just said that if I can get my hands on either of those bikes, she'll give her full approval to the purchase. Do you hear that Honda..?! That's the sound of my wife handing me a blank check...

Those are so cool!

Damn it! why are only Harley wannabees imported!!!! Damn it!

Because they're profiling us as a a bunch of NASCAR-watching cruiser-poseurs!

Haters!

Don't they know we love all things retro? The new Camaro's seem to be selling well....

See? This is what I'm saying! Honda has brought sexy back! This is 1100 cc's of pure bikesexuality!

For me, the appeal is that it's the UJM I know and love having owned (in order) an...

Now if I'd only had the foresight to hang on to both of those bikes..! :glare:

Man, I would love it if they just made an updated version of my old CB750...something with electronic ignition, discs at both ends, fuel injection, and something close 100 hp and 50 or so ft. lbs of torque (at the crank is fine).

Heck, I think I could even learn to live with a narrow radiator between the front frame rails, so long as it is small and not too ugly...

But I want a naked bike with a nice tank shape, and a plain old ROUND headlight (or that little cafe screen, that's fine). The modern naked bikes always have strange double-headlights or funky shaped...growths...on the forks.

Ugh, that tumor on the front of the ER6n...

Shades of the CB 750. What sweet memories. Along with it's stable mate, the KZ-1. Luv the bikini fairing! Would look nice in me garage!! As for Europe, well coz they are big into commuting, maybe?! Going to London in Dec & will try & get a ride on one, either one will do nicely, mate. :glare:

In Europe they sell 70% road & sport bikes and 30% cruisers, etc.

Here It's almost the exact opposite, or so they tell the dealer's.

You would (you say...) -- but (probably?) precious few others... :(

My local dealer's a good guy -- but, he knows what pays the bills: (after ATVs/UTVs) cruisers, big touring bikes, and a few race-replica sport bikes and a few dirt-bikes. He's gone for like 10 years without ever having a sport-touring bike on the floor -- he knows they're 'dead' in his market. :(

H-D's done a masterful marketing job -- America wants either a real Harley or a cheap knock-off.... :(

Reminds me of (two) 1983 CB1100 F I owned, bought one new in '83, another used in '89. Rode the crap out of them - chain and sprockets was all I ever wore out besides tires. Interestingly, I think the 1100 F was available in Europe in 1981 and 1982 but only one year in the U.S. - 1983. They used it to plug a line-up gap until they could release the 1000 Interceptor in 1984. All based on the 750 F and 900 F - a great Honda "sport" series that had me buying only Hondas until I bought my FJR in 2003. The wheels on these even look like the old "Comstar" Honda wheels. Add that little bikini headlight fairing and a little tail piece behind the seat and...voila CB "F".

A year or so after the yellow one -- hot-rodded engine by Honda (first time I ever heard of 'Kelmet' bearings). Seemed pretty 'revvy' -- back in the day....

And this bike (another few years later):

set a new lap record (according to the announcer) at a recent AHRMA race. :)
