Well just got back from the MC show in NYC and talked to the Honda people. They said that there will be an early release 2012 Goldwing coming out this year that will have "new features" and slightly updated look but the engine (remains as 1800), tranny and frame will be the same, no changes.

They said that it did not pay for them to give us a full redesign because it would end up costing 35 to 40K dollars to buy with the current dollar/yen exchange rate. Honda said the price will go up but only by a few hundred dollars

I would consider the new GTL from BMW. Looks to be the new top dog of luxury sport touring.. Correction the wing is a luxury touring bike, drop the sport. Still a great bike though.

I know my comment is in hindsight but perhaps closing their assembly plant in Ohio wasn't such a good idea. (e.g. currancy exchange rate)

[ Had a spin on the 2010 Wing 14 mile loop street, hwy, back roads . The center of gravity is great did not feel like a 900 lb bike . If i had the cash there would be 1 in my garage .
